Bar eS is one of the best food restaurants in the whole of the Lakes! Incredible food with amazing quality ingredients used throughout. We ordered a bit too much but ate it all as it was just so nice we couldn't waste any. So reasonably priced for the quality you're getting. Staff are so polite and will answer any questions. They also stock some really nice local beers too. There's something for everyone! Will be back next time I'm in Keswick.
Good food and good fun! Let Bar eS take you to Spain or Mexico for an evening. Their commitment to creating an authentic atmosphere and a good time accompanied by good food, wine and beers of the crafty variety seems total. That and the way this stands out from everything around it, earns the restaurant and its friendly staff the full five stars.
Great little hidden gem. Food was delicious, ordering was simple, just browse the menu and tick what you fancy. Staff were really friendly. Would highly recommend.
Food is nice, but it's not some bastion of great taste like other reviews would imply. The staff are lovely, and nothing was bad - but it was underwhelming after hearing so much praise. The main issue is that it's trying to be two things at once - texmex, and Spanish tapas. The texmex stuff, like tacos and quesadilas, are fine, but really expensive for what they are. Guacamole and salsa taste the same as wetherspoons'. Don't get much meat in other dishes. Etc. On the other hand, tapas stuff here does taste really good. A bit more suited to the cost, and richer flavours. There's just not much variety of it on the menu - the joy of tapas is trying a range of dishes, but here you don't have that freedom. Going will still be a positive experience, just don't expect too much!
I love tapas restaurants, but looking at the menu I was not expecting much from this place. However, how wrong was I? Be aware the the portion sizes are very large and we definitely ordered way too much food, but all of it was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed. I really recommend the cocktails as they taste amazing. This place is really great value for money and the staff are all really friendly. I wish I had room to try the desserts!
Sadly, given the hype, it turned out to be 'meh.' Yes, the Chorizo was great, but, sadly, the other choices were very unremarkable. Simple fixed like The hard shell tacos served cold which needed to be heated so they don't explode in the hand also very limited filling. Hoping it was just a bad night for chef and servers.
We decided to book here for dinner one night on our recent visit to Keswick. Wasn't expecting too much but was I wrong! The service was amazing! One of the servers took the time to describe everything and made sure we were ordering exactly what we liked. She was just such a lovely person. Food was delicious! I have no words for how good this meal was. Deserts were equally amazing, especially the coffee based cocktail option.. It was probably the most expensive of the desert menu, but worth every penny. If you haven't tried before, I 100% recommend. I'll be coming back on my next visit to Keswick.
Food was great. A really nice atmosphere backed up by welcoming and friendly staff. Had the pulled chorizo beef enchiladas with the cheese and jalapeño garlic bread. Will definitely be back next time I'm up this way.
Really great Tapas selection and nice little place for a meal. I'd recommend booking as it can get busy. Service is good and the meals came pretty quick. The Mushroom Tacos were excellent and a good mix of sauce choices for the Nachos
Good food and atmosphere would recommend to others. Its a small world neighbours from home sat on the next table
