All day dining in the heart of Covent Garden

Story

The original Balthazar was opened in New York City by Keith McNally in the spring of 1997. The London edition opened in February 2013 on the corner of Russell Street and Wellington Street in the heart of Covent Garden, just down the road from The Royal Opera House. Housed in the old Theatre Museum, in a building called “The Flower Cellars”, Balthazar will be sharing the space with The London Film Museum. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, plus weekend brunch. From opening to closing, food will be available all day long. There is a Balthazar bakery housed next door serving its own house-made artisan breads, as well as a wide selection of homemade pastries, salads and sandwiches to take away throughout the day.

Fantastic lunch here yesterday. Felt very cosy and festive with a brilliant atmosphere - exactly what we were looking for. Will definitely return!
Traditional New York City spot offering the same atmospheric French experience in the heart of Covent Garden. The decor is the same, the menu seemed to be exactly like the one you find across the ocean and staff is just as helpful and friendly. Had a great experience with friends for lunch.

Fantastic afternoon tea and one of the waiters was brilliant, the service was a bit slow at the start having ordered a bottle of sparkling water on arrival it took 20 minutes to come. Once we ordered the afternoon tea it all ran pretty smoothly. Great atmosphere.

Great ambience. Classic stylish decor reminiscent of 1900’s Parisian chic. The food was wonderful. Service was friendly and reasonably attentive, could have been a little more polished. A divine memorable evening.
