British Pub, Garden and Dining Room right at the heart of East Finchley
This historic pub and dining room has been serving the residents of East Finchley since 1714. The original inn was built by two local blacksmiths, one of whom, Thomas Grub, who now lends his name to our private function room.
In the 1770’s the pub’s name was changed from “The Jolly Blacksmiths” to “The Bald Faced Stag”, possibly as a result of a particular white faced stag well known on Finchley Common. The current building, including our iconic rooftop Stag emblem was built in 1880.
As East Finchley has developed around it, The Bald Faced Stag has become the heart of the High Road. Just 5minutes walk from the tube station, Cherry Tree Woods and the famous Phoenix Cinema; we are the perfect location for a pre-show meal, a haven for weary dog walkers, and with our beautiful dining room - a great spot for any occasion.
