Wonderful place...the food is always perfect. I've had various things with several different people and never had a bad meal. Sweets are wonderful especially the chocolate one with the homeycomb which should be on the menu permanently!

Are you sitting comfortably? So first the Waitress had to dash off and answer the phone whilst taking our drinks order, not her fault, they were probably understaffed, although it wasn’t that busy. After order ordering food the waitress returned to inform us that the haddock and chips that was ordered twice wasn’t available as they had ran out of haddock, a seafood restaurant that runs out of haddock at 8pm on a Friday. Really? One of the two members of our party that ordered the allusive haddock ordered a chicken dish instead (can you guess where this is going) that’s right, the now, I assume fairly embarrassed waitress returned to tell us the chicken was also unavailable, oh dear. One of the ordered starters was scallops with raisin purée, cauliflower and crispy onions. The scallops were delicious however the sides that came with them were samphire, what I think was pea purée and far from crispy onions. Now to the mains. I ordered off the specials board, a crab and lobster risotto which tasted of neither of those delicious crustaceans due to the amount of saffron that must have been used. Very very “earthy”. I think to give it an authentic seaside, fresh from the ocean feel the chef decided to season the risotto with sand as it had an unpleasant, crunchy/grainy texture to every bite. A friend that had been disappointed by the fish and the chicken been of the menu decided to have the lamb instead. The disappointment continued, tough, fatty and I quote “tastes like feet”. In the interest of fairness the other two members of our party were quit me pleased with their food. However all in all not a great experience which is a shame as I went a few years ago and it was fantastic. Oh and they added and extra drink on to our bill. They removed it, but still.

Me and my lovely girlfriend went for the set menu tonight. Lovely food, resteraunt was nicely set out, pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff but seemed at little unorganised. Would definitely go again. Thanks.

Really lovely place to eat. Way bigger then you expect and the back booths are a joy to sit in, really private and cosy. The menu was missing one third of the items which was a little disappointing, but was backed up by having a fairly comprehensive specials menu. We tried a variety of starters between us the Duck Bon Bons and the Mussels were very good. The mains were also strong particularly the swordfish, the beer battered cod and the lemon sole were very tasty. Our waitress was polite and helpful. All in all a well priced (wine perhaps a couple of quid too expensive), but very enjoyable and would visit again.
