AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I used this garage only because they allegedly are the only auto gear box specialist in glouc…. I had to wait over 2 weeks to even take my car in in the first place.. not off to a good start. The women I spoke to when I booked was pretty abrupt and rude, but I didn’t think much of it at the time. When the day came to take my car in I did. The man in reception wasn’t particularly friendly at the time, but again I didn’t think much of it. My car was only booked in my a diagnostic a few other garages had told me that my auto gearbox was having serious problems but weren’t equipped to deal with the problems so I called at lunch when I hadn’t heard anything. I was told after plugging it in they had found nothing wrong, and after lunch he would test drive it. At 4 I had still heard nothing so I called. A receptionist working from home told me she couldn’t tell me because she couldn’t get hold of the ‘technicians’ also, which was concerning. I eventually managed to speak to a mechanic, who told me my car is fine and drives perfectly, and nothing was wrong I’ll stress 2 other garages have told me my gearbox was gone they somehow used 1/4 tank of fuel on this test drive, and charged me £90 for the pleasure…. To not diagnose my car. Anyway, I took it somewhere else further away the next day and they called me within an hour, told me what was wrong and how they were going to fix it. Unless you like getting mugged off, stay as far away as possible
I didn’t think to much of this company, as a product of this I cancelled my diagnostic which was booked in with them. I had just purchased a car which has some issues with the auto gear box. Rang up to made an appointment and asked if they had heard of the issue before, very stand off ish. Got passed to a guy who said sounds like front dif has gone “your talking over a grand” read the other reviews and decided to cancel off the back there had been a couple bad reviews recently. Can’t say how they are when they have your car as I just didn’t get good vibe from this company. Manual swap taking place as we speak.

I have used this company quite a few times. And as a taxi driver I find They are very competitively priced. Have a good turnaround time on there work all the staff are polite and the mechanics appear to work in a good clean environment. I also got a great after care service on reconditioned gearbox they do what they say. And that’s why it’s 5 BIG STARS from me.Thanks team I will use your service again.Services: Oil change
A while back was told on the phone that they fixed all types of auto transmission and when I gave the model make and age of the car made extra sure to check they could work on it, ‘if it’s an automatic transmission and it’s in a car, we can fix it’ they said. Well after having it towed there they took one look at it and sent it away saying they didn’t work on these. £375 of towing cost down the drain and they refused to take any responsibility, telling me it was an old make of car they didn’t work on which I’d made very clear to them before to avoid such a scenario. Mechanic I spoke to was very rude and short with me on the phone. Long story short insist you speak to a mechanic at the start and don’t trust the receptionists to tell you if they will do the work, even if you give them reg and they say they will double check.Service: Transmission
This is a family run business of which I feel so very lucky to have stumbled across. I was sat on the M5 awaiting recovery in my C Class amg Mercedes automatic with no drive. I called several auto transmission companies to try and find a suitable company to supply me a service for repair. I found it very hard for several companies to supply such a service or even recommend me a suitable alternative. However upon ringing Auto Trans Gloucester I Started speaking to Sophia who from point one told me not to worry, her company specialises in my gear box and would be no problem getting recovered there, but also in the next breath being totally honest to me and saying it would be at least 4-5 days before they could look at it not like previous experiences with other companies and feed you 'bull's just to get the work upon arrival the guys from the work shop came to the recovery truck, helped take car off back and gave instructions of what was going to happen next. I then got to meet Sophia who word for word told me what would happen and broke down each possible price of each outcome. After a few days, Sophie called me and gave me some great news that the worst case scenario was not the case asthaey had found the cause of the problem. unlike some businesses who give you a worst case scenario and stick to it regardless. The job was carried out so professionally with constant communication from Sophia. Upon collection I asked to speak with a member of staff who worked on my car to see if it was my driving or any fault of mine why this problem happened, at this i was introduced to Sophia's dad. What a great , polite and very knowledgeable guy. sorry, didnt get his name spoke with him for a long time and felt like i was really appreciated to be one of his customers. All in all, a great family, team and professional company. Could not ask for more communication, opinions and professionalism. Well done ATG, look forward to seeing you in 6,000 miles for my second check Service: Transmission
