It was a really nice day out for us. Relaxing, quiet. Lovely to see so many dogs happy playing around. We'll maintained, plenty of spaces in the car park. Would love some benches by the water tho.
Really nice to walk around. Open green spaces, woodland and you can see the mere from various points. Large enough to social distance. We spent an hour here at 11.30am on a Sunday and the car park was busy. Cost 50p to park for 4 hours and the machine doesn't give change. Mix of families, dog walkers and cyclists. Would like to go back for longer and maybe take a picnic.
A great place for all ages to walk. Very flat, almost exactly a one mile circuit, so walkers, joggers and serious runners can get their steps up around this charming mere. With a lovely waterside cafe g.g.'s, to add a bit of welcome hospitality, a watersports centre, for those more energetic souls, and plenty of wildlife to spot on your tour around its paths.nLoads of benches to rest and take in the scenery, all the way round, and plenty of parking within the country parks boundaries. This is a place for every age from 0 to quite elderly.
Nice walk around the lake in the sun. Coffee shop on site too near the main car park which is a pay and display car park but is cheap. Toilets at the car park too.
A great place for a short stroll or a walk with or without! the kids through the woods or to push a pram around... with plenty of open space for a friendly kickabout or a picnic. Within walking distance of Congleton town centre this place is it great local resource and a lovely place to just spend some time.nnA good place to walk a dog too. Most owners seem to be quite respectful and don't hang their poo bags in the treesnnThe ground around the Lake itself is owned by a local angling society so I assume it is great for fishing and there's a very handy boating centre which will rent out kayaks and other vessels.nnNot a great place to feed the ducks with kids unless you are renting a boat as the only land you can get to by the water is either dedicated to dogs so you won't find ducks there or owned by the boat club.
