Nice clean place, easy to get to as a first timer driving to the area. Car park almost adjacent to it, so parking is a doddle. Acoustics inside were great and refreshments didn't cost the earth.

The Assembly Hall has been around for a long time and unfortunately it really shows. Apart from the tired old building it's got a lot going for it including of variety of shows from musicals to comedy to panto etc and they're all very watchable quality. It's also super handy to have local to Tunbridge Wells.

Nice enough venue that isn't too large and you feel like you're having an experience of a large event in a somewhat inclusive environment. Facilities are good, staff are very friendly and helpful. The only downside that I have to say, is that I took my young daughter there to see the Nutcracker Ballet and we were in the front row of the stalls. The orchestra was behind a big black curtained area right in front of us and we couldn't really see the stage. We could only see the dancers from around the knee upwards. Even with the booster seat the theatre kindly provided, our view was still totally obscured. We still enjoyed it and my daughter was very happy, but it would've been nice to be forewarned that those seats would have an obstructed view of the stage.

After travelling a long distance on a cold winter day, arrived in the ticket hall an hour or so before the performance. To my surprise I was informed that the bar/coffee shop will not be open until half an hour before the show starts and was advised to find a place around town to buy a beverage. I see it as a missed opportunity to cash on the captive audience especially as it is impossible to serve all potential customers within that time and certainly no time for repeat orders. I expect time is an essence for whoever's paying staff wages and it is a sad reflection of the times we live in.

Nice layout. Staff pleasant. Personally I could have done with a bit more leg room but think would be OK for majority of people.
