Me and my friends purchased the Time Out deal - £25 for 3 courses starters, main and dessert + cocktail. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the food at Asia De Cuba. The food was amazing. I chose the ‘The Crispy Calamari’ Salad. There were a lot of calamari had to share some with my friends!. Calamari was cooked to perfection, the salad was great, who knew bananas in a salad would work so well! For mains I chose the Tamarind Salmon. Again the salmon was cooked to perfection. One of the best salmon’s I’ve tried. The salmon was soft and jut melted in your mouth. Wasn’t too keen on the yellow sauce that accompanied the salmon, had too much kick for my liking! We also ordered separately Yuca ‘Fries’ £5 supplement. Wasn’t sure what to expect as the staff told us it’s a type of root vegetable - but it was finger licking delicious! It’s a healthier alternative to fries and wasn’t oily or greasy they way the chef cooked it! For dessert I chose the Mexican Doughnuts recommended by the staff!. Was very happy with the choice, the chilli chocolate and caramel filling was perfect. I’m not a huge fan of caramel as I find it too sweet, but the sweetness was just right. It would of been nice if the doughnuts were a little bit warmer. For my cocktails I chose the Cabano - great cocktail and for a small glass they put in a lot of alcohol! Super concerntrated. The service as amazing. The staff was amazing. Very attentive and gave some great recommendations! I would definitely recommend this place!
Beautiful restaurant located in the St Martins Lane Hotel, with a nice modern decor. Great vibe, good music. Very good cocktails, delicious mix of Asian and Caribbean food. We especially loved the ceviches. Quite expensive, but the staff is very lovely and the service is great. They even offered us Mexican doughnuts with caramel, which were absolutely yummy. I definitely recommend it!
It's been a decade since I last went here. Food is good as I remember along with the price tag! However, there is 50% off food throughout all of August so definitely worth a try. The coffee crusted steak was so tender with subtle aromas of coffee, like eating meat in a coffee shop. Wheelchair access . Staff were ever so friendly and helpful. Very cool place for a meal.
The decor was really lovely and clean! It had a nice vibe and the lighting made created a nice, evening dinner mood. I would say the cocktails rum shake were delicious. The starters were tasty, the ducknuts especially as that was something I'd never tired before. They were special! I usually get a lamb or fish dishes so I went for the tuna but I wasn't really impressed! It was in essence tuna, beans and greens which was played up more by the description. I wouldn't have this again! I feel like the prices of the place let the place down for what you were getting quantity and quality. My friend had the chicken main and she was pleaded! The atmosphere in general was good nonetheless!
We visited that restaurant on Christmas day. Great atmosphere, that food was perfect! The Greek waitress who served us was very kind and helpful!
Expensive place, live music, great ambiance. Best meal was asian sea food box. The salmon was mediocre and tuna was not really good. But the box was amazing. The crunchy calamari salad was great.
Had a very nice evening, took advantage of the 50% off food they are doing this August. Had a selection of ceviche the scallop and salmon where my favouritea, melting in your mouth. For the main we opted for cumin dusted seared tuna which was delicious, i really enjoyed the veggies that came with it. And the lamb, so good the green sauce was perfect to dip in and the corn and beans were just crunchy enough. As Dessert we had the baba which was amazing but coming from italy i was expecting it to be way more boozy and wet. The yuzu jelly was so tangy!! I loved it. And we also had the lime and lemon tart, which was very flavourful but the fact that the pastry case was not crunchy made it lose a lot od points. Cocktails were great as well as the Sauternes dessert wine we had. The service was attentive and every time we needed anything the waiter was just a wave away.
The food was really tasty, well cooked but I'm disappointed with the size of the tamarind-glazed salmon, it's more a starter than a main! On the other hand the Cobia ceviche is highly recommended
Got a tad mixed feelings about the place. Dishes are hit and miss. Great salmon ceviche and salmon as a main. Tuna not so great. Loved the deserts, Thai flan and cheesecake unusual but great. Recommended by the waiter rice was terrible. Friendly service, not too prompt though.
The starters are really good , the main was average. I go back for the starters again. Service was sluggish as at times we really struggled to find a waiter.
