Beautiful grounds with acres to walk around. We visited again in November and the weather was incredibly mild, the colours on the trees were stunning. There's a cafe by the main mansion house where you can sit and have drinks and something to eat. It's dog friendly, however I would say that they could do with more waste bins around the grounds and maybe a few water bowls for dogs. You will see deer here too, also they hold events here so always worth looking what's on. Absolutely recommend this place to visit for anyone who loves walking, history, beauty and nature.
Love this place. Plenty of woodland to explore, as well as open space that's perfect for activities, dog walking and for children to burn off steam, as well as picnics. Plenty of wild garlic in the wooded section where the frisbee golf is, when it's in season, and the mansion house is beautiful too. The car parks are very reasonably priced the Church Lodge car park often has plenty of space, and under £2 a day is pretty good. Worth a visit if you're looking for somewhere to stretch your legs!
Always a great place to come. For family meets ups, picnics with friends, dog walks, bike rides. Even parties at the mansion.. plus all the festivals that are held here. Parking is reasonable.....expanse is large. Coffee is great!
Great mixture of woodland, deer parks with sculpture and fine historic buildings for good measure. Quite an experience eating lunch in the former stables - see how the other horses lived. Particularly loved Hugo Farmer's Freedom of Speech.
Wonderful garden area and cafe. Wider grounds are vast with loads to explore. Lots of open spaces and forest trails. Deer were lovely to see up close. Sadly you have to pay to park there now. Also all the ticket machines were out of use, and it was more expensive to pay online. Bristol city council is a joke.
Beautiful grounds to walk through. Plentiful parking. Woods and meadows and cultivated gardens. Great charactered trees to find. Lovely little café with gendered toilets that don't require a purchase. Food is nice menu from August 2022 in photos. Deer grounds do contain ticks though, so wear long trousers or stick to the short grass or both.
Jurassic experience was really fun. Lovely setting and nice balance of dinosaurs; quite a few Chinese species. Parking not great though. Nowhere near enough spaces.
Beautiful place. We visited for the Bristol Balloon Fiesta, which is fantastic. Lots of activities and things to do and places to eat. The night glow is amazing! The hot air balloons perform a light xhow to music. Ample parking, which you pay per car and not per person, but leaving the event can take a very long time queuing. It took us over an hour to get out of the car park.
Ashton Court Estate. Wow. An accidental discovering of this place whilst talking to a neighbouring caravaner on site. What a fantastic place to spend a few hours. Just on the outskirts of Bristol. £1.80 I think it was to park all day. There’s a lovely cafe in the main building with toilet facilities. Benches and tables outside. Some lovely gardens to walk round. There’s a couple of heards of various deer on site. Fantastic views of the local area. There’s lovely paved roads to walk. No vehicular access so apart from cyclists you are relatively safe. There’s Forrest walks. Literally something for everyone. And 15 to 20 minutes walk you can visit the Clifton suspension bridge. Also well worth the visit. If I’m the area again will definitely visit. Will make sure it’s not the hottest day of the year next time. Wow. It was hot hot hot. Take a picnic. A football. A frisbee. Literally you can spend the day there enjoying open space and fresh air. Beautiful. Was nice to see people picnicking and enjoying the great outdoors. And the place is vast. So you can always find a quiet area to relax if that’s what you want. Win win.
Incredible walks and views! I visited here on Sunday for a walk with my dog and was shocked by how lovely it was. The parking was cheap on Sunday, under £2 for the whole day. There were toilets and a coffee shop! We didn’t go in the house or the cafe but it looked great. There were so many walks you could go on and great for letting the dog off lead. There were deers and horses, on top of this breathtaking views of Bristol. This will be for sure our new Sunday walk!
