First time in this restaurant loved the whole atmosphere of Byres Rd/ Ashton Lane food was amazing could not fault anything the staff were very attentive and could not have done more the person I was with is vegetarian so had a wee taste which I actually liked although between you and me I'll stick to my chicken highly recommend if your in the area 5*
Wow, this place is one of my favourites...The Food is so delicious, full of flavour and always fresh. Staff is very friendly...Thank you, and see you soon.Food: 5/5
This is an authentic Indian restaurant. Interesting decor that ranges from traditional, to industrial, and even a gothic theme in one part of the upstairs. We thought the food was excellent, pickles chef made and full of flavour and spice. Chicken dishes succulent and beautiful flavoured. Service was faultless and Bindye was helpful and friendly despite this being her first week. Great food at good value. The wine was also very good.
Don't even bother. Sat in the upstairs of the restaurant which gives off fast food/cafe vibes, servers running in and out of the kitchen with home deliveries clearly they prioritise them over sit in customers, could also see there was tension with the manager and a staff member I believe. 40-50 minute wait on starters and it only got worse when the mains came out and every single one of my dishes had hair in them. We walked in to see a table behind us left all of their drinks sitting because they clearly didn't like the wait either, wish I just done the same as them.
Really enjoyed the food For starters we got chicken masala puri and mixed only thing that wasn’t great was the veg pakro rest was lovely… for mains we got paneer saag 10/10 and achri chicken partner really enjoyed we will back service was fast and server was spot on and friendlyFood: 5/5
We were somewhat disappointed with the standard of most of the food. While naans were hot, crisp and generously sized a dish of Chole was rancid. Lamb biryani was satisfactory as was a lamb curry. Everything was over spiced and too salty - an old trick intended to drive drink sales. Service was friendly and attentive though, which was nice. Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options. Parking: There is a car park just above the restaurant on Lilybank Gardens. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible unfortunately.
Very disappointing meal. Chicken tikka was bland and tasteless - beer was as flat as the nan bread. Madras had all the correct flavour profiles but meat was dry and stringy. Wife now has food poisoning from the chicken tikka.
Ashoka is located near Glasgow Botanical garden. Starters are the best part about Ashoka. We really enjoyed the platter. They have good options for vegetarians and vegans. Garlic and chilli nan are large enough and very authentic. Will definitely recommend it to someone looking to try Indian food.Food: 5/5
Amazing plentiful presentation of food in a beautiful restaurant on a beautiful street. Excellent service as well. Highly recommend the juicy Dosas and the haggis pakoras as starters. The mains are waaaaaay bigger than I’m used to getting - I would say one serves two. So get two and take home leftovers! The Lamb sharab masti was especially delicious. The naans are also waaaaaay bigger than I’m used to and also way more flavorful and expertly baked. The garlic naan certainly doesn’t skimp on the garlic and the sweeter peshwari naan quickly became the highlight of the table. The table behind us ordered what I believe is the giant naan and if you’re going to try to impress somebody … order that. Excellent and unusual presentation! Many thanks to our server, Diksh, who was beyond hospitable and informative.
