I was truly disgusted after coming to this B&B August of last year. After reading the reviews prior to my visit, I was expecting a pleasant experience, however sadly this was not the case. The previous comments are unrepresentative of the quality and experience you will get here. On arrival, I was expecting a greeting from the owner however had to wait outside for nearly an hour after ringing the bell countless times. This immediately gave me a bad impression. Also, when Sue, the owner finally arrived to greet me and my daughter, I mentioned about the long delay and in response she shouted at us. 1 this is not a thing you'd expect from an establishment like this and also 2 my daughter was made to feel upset. This was not ideal at all considering her birthday was the following day. Although this was a disgraceful greeting, we tried to overlook what had occurred and see any positives in the place however this was also later proven impossible. My bedroom firstly suffered heavily from mould and silverfish. The bedding was stained and when using the shower, the drain was blocked with what I only assume to be pubic hair. The water pressure was terrible with only a small amount coming out of the shower. When breakfast came around me and my daughter each requested a full day breakfast which only consisted of a slice of cold toast, beans, overcooked egg and burnt bacon. Although it was edible, it did not match it's overpriced price-tag. After receiving this, I attempted to send it back but instead received a really rude response from what I only guess to be the manager's son. Sadly, this is as modest as I can review the experience.

Lovely place. Traditional Farm house with stunning gardens. Well worth a stop over if you want a warm welcome and a hearty fresh breakfast.

Life gets no better than this: a glorious working farm in Cheshire's rolling acreage, a Georgian farmhouse beautifully preserved, cherished, and furnished with impeccable taste . .. and a home-from-home for anyone in need of 5* service at anything but a 5* cost. In fact, star ratings don't mean anything here because this oh-so comfortable and welcoming 6-bedroom B&B offering is so complex of character as to defy classification: country house with rolling lawns? Got it. Working farm with cattle roaming a lush countryside? Got it. Accessible haven within easy reach of some of England's finest rural attractions and thriving cities (Chester, Liverpool, Manchester)? Got it. Above all though, a house that's a home to Sue and Fred, and a home very probably quite unlike anything you've ever experienced. We visited for the first time this week (April 2016.) And yes, as Arnold said, we'll be back. Ash House Farm is absolutely. . . unbeatable.
