Went to Asda in Tilbury and what is it with this store and their SEL? Went to buy some wholemeal flour and they have Allinson's wholemeal flour in 3 different places, each with a different price. 1 @ £1.00, 1@ £1.40 and 1@ £1.50. Of course the correct price for the flour I wanted was £1.50. What the shelf filler has done is see the word Allison's on the SEL and put the same product in 3 different places. I couldn't be bothered with having all the hassle of going to customer services and pointing out the error and getting a refund. Is there no check by anyone to ensure that the correct product is in the correct spot with the correct price? Photos attached.nnWent to Asdas, again, today 7.06.24 similar problem, SEL showing £2.70 for Plenty scanned the item £3.50. What is it with Asdas and their shelf edge labels. See pictures attached.nnWent to Asdas yesterday, 11.06.24, to buy a few bits I missed on Friday 7th June. Yet ANOTHER difference between the SEL and the scanned bar code. This time it was 150gr walnut pieces in the home baking section SEL-£1.40, scanned at £1.60. I could not be bothered to take a picture this time as Asdas do not remedy the mistakes. I wish I were a secret shopper, I would have a field day.nnAsdas Tilbury 14.06.24 this time leerdammer light cheese, SEL £1.90....scanned at £2.35. I do wonder how many people have been caught like this and not realised.
This is my first in person visit to Asda since Covid. I have a annual Delivery pass, but thought would try an in person shop.nFirst good thing I noticed was that the shopping trolley did not require a £1 coin. Other supermarkets should take note.nI had forgotten just how big the store actually is and the layout was new to me. So I went up and down most of the isles.nEnjoyable shop but I picked up much more than what was on my shopping list and therefore a heftier bill.nPerhaps that was another reason I bought a delivery pass .nnThe one good thing was I got some bargains as I crossed one reduced fresh fruit and vegetables isle where I got some excellent baby vine Tomatoes at a fraction of the normal cost as well as fresh raspberries. This ofcourse one would never be able to get on an online shop.nIt was good to see that the prices and promotions for some of items were the same online as they were in the normal shop. This I have found out by experience, is not the case with some other shops like Morrisons where the staff member has advised me the promotion online prices are not always available in store.nnI asked for assistance a few times and the staff were mostly friendly and responsive.nnWhen I finished my selection, I got one of the 3 manned tills. The wait was not long. I was served by a very nice happy, chatty lady.nOnce I paid for it, on the way out of the store, I noticed a section with hand held scanners. I enquired about this from a staff member who advised me to register my telephone number and then I would be able to shop.nI did exactly that and the scanner was ready and it showed my first name on the scanner ready for the shop.nAs I had already shopped, I simply put the scanner back in the holster.nnOverall a very satisfying shop. Well done Asda.nn4 September 2023 updatennWent to Asda today as I was in the vicinity. Great to see trollies without a coin slot.nAfter starting my shopping, I went back and got the hand scanner, as I missed it totally. It really needs to be resited as you enter the store not tucked to the left which is only seen when you exit the checkouts.nnI got some nice wine, though it has gone up in price since my last purchase, the upward trend continues.nnMajority of the staff I saw seemed to be pushing trollies / carts making up orders, a very few stocking shelves.nnAsda has an enormous selection of produce and as it is a very large stores, takes longer to shop.nFrom personal experience, I found I got nicer produce picking items myself than the ones I got when ordering via the home delivery option
The pharmacist assistant is very very rude. I rang for some help with a prescription that I was having trouble with, I was speaking to the pharmacist and was quite clearly on loud speaker. I could hear the pharmacist assistant being very rude about me, talking over me, giving her opinion to the pharmacist, speaking to me like I was a child. The pharmacist herself was very helpful shame the same couldn’t be said for the assistant
I type this from the car park. I have had the worst experience in this store. This is my regular store. I have been shopping here for 6 years! Today I felt very uncomfortable. As I was scanning my shopping at the self checkout, I had a “new” security guard Asian stand right behind me watching every single item I scanned. I know they are just doing their job, but this security guard seemed like he was making the effort to make me feel uncomfortable. I have never felt so violated in my whole life. It has put me off coming to this specific store now. I also have friends who have experienced this too recently at this ASDA store and the one thing that we all have in common is that we are black. Quite disappointing. If I could give 0 stars I would.
This store quality is gone down so badly in the recent yearsnThey do not maintain cold chain properlynThe milk goes off sooner than they say in the use by date even if it is kept in fridge all the time apart from taking it to make tea or coffeenThe management is not bothered about quality of products anymorenNot worth shopping here if I could give a zero I would do
