I very rarely leave negative reviews for supermarkets, and I shop regularly at places like Sainsbury’s and Tesco without any issues. Unfortunately, this ASDA is very different and has become uncomfortable to shop in.nStock levels are often poor, and there are frequent misleading “reduced” signs where items aren’t actually reduced. Clothing sale racks are sometimes placed far away from the main clothing section with signage encouraging customers to browse, but while people are looking, staff then move multiple stock or empty cages into the area without warning to block exit.nOn several occasions, aisles and freezer sections have been blocked by cages, leaving customers unable to pass. What makes this worse is that staff often stand nearby, clearly aware of the obstruction, but say nothing. There have been times when customers have had to move heavy cages themselves just to get through, with no assistance or apology — only silent staring, which feels quite hostile.nThe same lack of communication happens at the self checkouts. Despite the store opening early, only a couple of self checkouts are often available, leading to queues even though very quiet. When staff are asked, there is frequently no apology or explanation, and help can take long to arrive for things like age checks or bagging checks. Interactions are often silent, with no acknowledgement or basic customer engagement.nOverall, the atmosphere feels unwelcoming, as though customers are an inconvenience rather than the reason the store is open. I’ve stopped shopping here unless I absolutely have to, which is not something I’ve ever felt compelled to do with other supermarkets. This store feels poorly managed and, at times, genuinely unpleasant to be in.

Aisles and freezer sections are often blocked by cages, and staff stand nearby doing nothing. In the clothing sales area near the food section, customers can even be deliberately caged in—staff give cold stares and refuse to move. On one occasion, the manager shoved a cage at me and ignored me completely.nAt the kiosk, staff often spend minutes chatting instead of helping customers, deliberately ignoring anyone waiting right in their eyesight, then feign surprise when approached. One time, my dad was waiting at the kiosk while a staff member continued talking for over two minutes without acknowledgment, then claimed the kiosk was closed, even though it had always been open before. This behavior isn’t limited to junior staff; supervisors and managers act the same. Overall, the store feels unwelcoming and poorly managed.nReposting since got removed for no reason.
I had a big shop to do at Asda and ended up spending just over 2 hours in the car park. As a result, I got a £100 fine. I phoned Asda to contest this and they said parking penalties are run by third parties so there's nothing they can do. Needless to say, I will never shop at Asda ever again and will tell this story to anyone whenever the subject of Asda comes up. Disgraceful.
The click & collect is just awful, its at least a 10 - 15 minute wait when you arrive, We arrived at 7am nobody else waiting.... It needs looking at seriously, no covered area, the shopping comes from the rear of the store so if its raining like it was on our visit the shopping was drenched.......AVOID, i had to phone the helpline number to tell them I was sat here waiting. Tesco is way better and would only use Asda again if I was desperate, whoever decided to put a click & collect in this store needs to have a word with themselves........
Very large, clean and tidy. Plenty of parking and popular. Good range of products including George. Cafe and toilet facilities. Brilliant helpful and attentive security guy. Pleasant staff well run store.
