Obnoxious old “lady” at the self checkout, needed to take the alarm off some products I purchased, I ask if she could take them off while showing the receipt for them and I might be wrong here and maybe was supposed to take them off myself after paying but I doubt that’s how it works because that would just be encouraging theft. She takes the items from my hands and goes to take them off without saying a single word, then she stops next to a customer to approve the alcohol and take the alarm off that as well, no words were exchanged with him, just pushed him away from the till to do her thing while me and the customer just looked at each other in disbelief, she gave both products back to me even though the back of the box was literally half opened to the point where the things inside could’ve easily fallen out. This happened Thursday 19/01/2023 at 4:27pm and it was an old woman with grey hair. I usually don’t care that much about poor customer service but this is just… wow. I work at a big supermarket in town so I know everyone can have a bad day but that’s just not caring anymore.
The standards in this store have dropped dramatically in the last year or so. The tills are dirty, the toilets are always closed, the shelves are empty and the staff are extremely rude. Today I witnessed the bald headed male staff member at the self checkouts actually shouting at a young female customer with a baby, he was even waving his arms right in front of her. Absolutely disgusting way to treat a customer. I have been considering shopping elsewhere for a while now and I think that today has cinched it.
I always have online shopping. The drivers are usually friendly and bring my shopping through to my kitchen as I'm not too good at working. Today however the driver refused to come in. I had to get a trolly and empty the baskets myself and after needed my heart spray. I would rather he didn't come again.
I decided to do some late evening shopping approx. 10pm without any specifically urgent need. I was ready to spend money on some non essential purchases including grapes and some Gorge products maybe some other food. Not sure about the outcome I took my ASDA bag for life with me giving up using basket as walking with basket by comparison to bag for life was inconvenient. Exactly as countless times in past years I went in and put my purchase to the empty bag for life. Wandering along the shelfs I met security guy claiming I could not use bag for life instead of basket as the security on the screen can not see what is in it. Security stand is located next to the entrance. When getting in I had my bag folded down empty. I explained the security I wasn't about to claim I brought to the store something mine or was to leave the store without paying at the till on which occasion all purchases would be removed from the bag and recorded additionally by security cameras on top of recording in time of picking from the shelf. If any doubt I would comply with any reasonable request. I felt stressed and offended by security request as it was like assumption that the purchase in a bag was a first step to theft despite normal attempt toward that from my side. Following such rude admission I left the purchases on the shelf and went to the till area where 4 staff members were standing and chatting security and others. I showed them empty basket and empty bag as I returned intended purchases and decided to be too stressed to carry on visit to ASDA as a result. Security in the self services area and stron ASDA staff members additionally gave me idea of being targeted and harassed for me unknown reason. There was no logic other than harassment. Is it a Brexit issue, ownership's change or Customer Service quality level. Simply disgusting in time when 4 people guard self service area, none is at the security stand and your customer is to be harassed because of insufficient ? monitoring, invigilation during purchases .
Last night I came to the cornstar I deposited my coins and the voucher came and it said £_11.7 I went customer services at 22.30 but it was closed so I returned this morning but was told I could not redeem the money because it has to be redeemed the same day which was impossible because it was closed. I was not pleased. So what are you going to do about it
They had nothing in that o want and the place is going down hill fast I would strong recommend NOT shopping here if you can help avoid the place at all costs
Well, what a rude and miserable woman working on the self service this morning. I scanned the wrong barcode and her response to my mistake was sour to say the least. A face like thunder. I walked out because I felt offended by her attitude. Working with the public demands a certain about of cheeriness and positivity. She didn’t have any. She intimidated me with her attitude and I left without my purchase. She needs to be out back not dealing with customers, coz she ain’t got the skillz. Asda, you really need to train your staff in some customer care. Her salty attitude has put me off. Nasty supermarket, nasty. All about the money and not about the experience. Also, not a single palm oil free loaf of bread. No options. Asda use palm oil in so many products. They’re helping destroy the rain forests. And where are your plastic free options. Did make me laugh in a recent ad campaign where Asda were displaying all these fresh fruits and vegetables, plastic free. that ain’t what’s actually going on in the shop. Plastic plastic plastic. A supermarket with a distinct lack of morals. All about the money.
Generally pretty good, one thing that is very noticeable is the amount of rubbish littering the site particularly in the shrubbery, the access road for the delivery vans is like a rubbish tip, needs deep clean.
Not great recently. Never enough smaller trollies available, scan as you shop handsets aren’t available. Stock is poor, not a lot of choice. Needs updating like other stores have been modernised. Any plans to upgrade the store like other counties have?
Very disappointing experience tonight 3. 1. 23 , around 8pm , my friend who is disabled and myself 74 year old used the self scanning machines , we went to pay and was met by two rude workers , one tall blonde lady and a small lady , they were very rude , the scanner machine broke down , my friend was struggling to take everything out of her bags and told the blonde lady this she got no help from her at all just looked at my friend with a smirky grin , i was taken to the other section to rescan my shopping she looked at me as if i was stupid , this treatment went on for 10 minutes after even she couldnt rectify the machine and was dragged by the trolley to the self scanning dept where my friend had to empty her bags and rescan everything and no help from these ladies after the experience my friend had to sit down for 15 minutes , I'm afraid asda need to train their staff in giving some respect to older and disabled customers , I have never known such rudeness , i will not use this store again , ive been in the store a few times before and thought some of the staff are rude who'syears
