'Buyer Beware ' ... Over the past few weeks I have purchased a number of items from the 'GEORGE' at ASDA range but even though said items on separate days were checked through by an ASDA staff member at a check out counter and fully paid for it still did NOT neutralise the 'Enhanced' security measures I'm told ASDA puts on its 'GEORGE' items - consequently, as I was exiting this store past the 'Security' desk a Loud Bleep from my trolley resonated around the hallway causing the 'Security' man to raise his eyebrows and investigate my purchases. Upon production of my receipt, all was well in the land and the 'Security' man said such 'Sometmes' happens with 'GEORGE' items and I let the matter rest. The Second time on a Different day Exactly the same thing happened again and this time I really was Annoyed with the 'ASDA Shopping Experience ' and I requested to speak with a Manager, who Suprise, Suprise said Yes, even though a 'GEORGE' item is fully Paid for it can indeed set off an Alarm at the 'Security' desk. Today Saturday 25.1.25 I thought I'd purchase a 'GEORGE' jumper which was passed through along with other items at a crewed check out counter .... Thankfully, some 20 feet away from said counter I thought I'd check my Receipt and Guess What NO JUMPER SALE was Registered on it - meaning. off course, said item would have 'Bleeped' at 'Security' and I wouldn't have had a foot to stand on ! ...... When I realised said Jumper was Not Listed on my Receipt I took it straight back to the 'Check out Person ' and told her and her Store to keep it as said Jumper could well have Potentially given me some serious Hassle at the 'Security' exit Desk. Again, I requested conversation with an ASDA manager concerning said event who Again reiterated that well worn phrase 'such things happen ' and I would say from my prospective 'Seemingly all too Often'' ! ...... Does 'Hassle' really have to be an integralnpart of the 'ASDA SHOPPING EXPERIENCE ' ? P.S. I must point out, as well as food, I have purchased other items in this store - Microwave - Hair dryer and Electric razors - all curiously enough WITHOUT Hassle - I imagine it may have had something to do with the fact they weren't festooned with the 'GEORGE' label ..... Only a thought !
Asda in Cookstown is a bit of a disappointment compared to other Asda stores. The range of products is noticeably smaller, and there’s hardly any variation in stock. Year after year it feels like the same items are on the shelves, with little to no effort in introducing new or seasonal products. This lack of variety and development really stands out, especially when compared to other Asda locations, which tend to be more diverse and dynamic in their selection. If you’re looking for a fresh shopping experience or something different, this store may not deliver. The speed bumps are absolutely dreadful and should be removed. Likewise, the tall flower beds and bushes obscure the entrance and make it hard to navigate those sharp 90-degree turns. These obstacles make driving around the area unnecessarily difficult and could easily be improved with some adjustments but who would care about that? Not recommended.
Real good store, but a little disappointed with the drinks section, could be a lot better!
There is a better shop than tesco. Asda is better. They have a great choice to buy. You can buy almost everything here. Very nice dressing here. There is also a large parking lot.
Store overall is brilliant but female public toilets are disgusting, the smell is permenantly there, never feels or smells properly clean. I try to avoid using but anytime I do they are horrendous.
