The main things I don’t like are: 1 it’s cold and the air conditioning is always on! This puts me off going as I hate being cold when indoors!!! 2 there are always people loitering at the entrance, it’s intimidating walking through the smell of cannabis to enter! 3 it’s not as nice or as big as Beeston Library 4 The coffee area should be proper little cafe so you don’t have to leave the library and disrupt your visit
Inside the library, you can find a few chairs to sit down and enjoy the silence while reading a book or two. There is a manga shelf on the ground floor. Quite a few computers available for your use, if you need some quick word document processing and/or if you need to print some documents.
Large modern library offering a large selection of books, audio books, maps and computers. Very spacious and well laid out with large free car park 2 hours nearby. Close to the centre of Arnold and shops. Reservations and collection service available.
Very friendly helpful staff, l use the library a lot and allways find the staff pleasent and helpful. And today they very kindly helpt me with the pc and printer.
Came to return books on the 29th December and found the library closed, no Christmas opening hours either on the door or the website. Yet another example of the Councils ineptitude and callous disrespect of the people in the borough.
I use this place on a regular basis and I always find the staff to be helpful and supportive. Great facilities and a very calm environment that's conducive to study/learning. Seems to cater well for local groups and has a real community feel to it.
Helpful staff, brilliant since renovation. I understand some of the frustrations of the other reviews but haven't experienced them. It's well thought out in placement of books & computers. There are accessibility issues due to its location where one of the one star reviews comes from. I assume this has been reported to council. Libraries are so underfunded I appreciate how much they do with little. I have can always order in a book I want and renew online. They have a couple of late evening opening so you can usually find time to visit.
We are visitors to Nottingham and needed to print off boarding passes. Previously we've used public libraries to do this. We found access to the library difficult from the car park as I am disabled. However, I negotiated the different stairways and was surprised at the facility, light modern and spacious. When enquiringly about the use of the computer I was told I had to be a member. I think the guy must have been new. He was really anxious to help. After getting permission from someone else we registered. The computers were on the first floor, more stairs! I was told I could use the lift but there have been problems !!! I did and there wasn't. After a complicated way to do the printing, my task was completed. The only concerning thing was that the angle of the computer screens were such that others nearby could read what was on my screen. Hey ho, life's not perfect. As I was leaving I saw a fire escape door on the first floor exiting to the car park. If I could leave via this it would really help and not be as painful or time consuming negotiating the stairway out side. I asked the lady at the desk if they had an exit from that floor to the car park. She could see my mobility wasn't good. She said quite emphatically yes, but for staff only. I explained my difficulties and she said, staff only and there was a ramp from the main road. Disappointed !!! Facilities reasonable, some training needs are obvious. Ken Matthews
Our kids love this library, the staff are very helpful and there's a good range of books.
I joined Arnold library after lockdown.Staff is very friendly and always helpful.If I cannot find book what I am looking for Library Staff ordering it for me and email & phone text. Find Inspire curses very interesting and would use it in a future.
