The reception staff on the first floor are the rudest members of staff! both on the phone and face to face. They look at you like they want to fight you not help you. Rolling there eyes if they have to do anything to assist you. Not just to myself, I witnessed one if them being so unhelpful and rude to and elderly patient who was struggling to check herself in on the computer. The way that the receptionist spoke to her was disgusting! I can not believe that a NHS GP surgery employ such rude and arrogant staff. They need to be replaced as staff like that give the NHS a bad name.
Always get either a phone or face to face appointment within a reasonable time. If ringing at 8am always a bit of a wait but again always get to speak to someone. Plus staff are helpful and I personally feel valued and not just a number
The service l got from Dr Sinclair today was excellent. She was so caring, helpful and supportive. Provided me with all the information l needed. Thank you Dr Sinclair for your dedication to keep me in good health.
Currently on hold apparently 5th in the queue but somehow iv been on hold now for nearly 45 mins, can guarantee when they finally do answer I’ll be told your blood results are here but it’s a 2/3 wait to be told them by a doctor, useless staff to be honest. Still accepting patients apparently but haven’t got time for the ones they already have!
Had to go to the children’s clinic today which is inside the health centre. The health centre itself has many nhs functions but my review is based on access , and facilities for wheelchair users . I noticed on Sat Nav that the destination is at the front of the building . This is fine if you arrive on public transport or taxi . You then have to walk past the bollards and up the grand footpath to a not very imposing door in a rather large blue /violet imposing wall. For those with vehicles depending upon which direction you come in :- from Horsforth side turn right onto station road before the building and then left onto Modder Avenue ,the health centre car park is on your left. From Leeds turn left onto Carr Crofts then right onto Modder Avenue .The car park is on your right as you drive down . I noticed the car park was full and there are only Four disabled bays . However people are coming and going most of the time . Exit the car and go to the building and follow it to the right around the front of the building. The main door is automatic as is the next one inside . It’s all flat and level . Reception is in front left and also has a lowered desktop . I noticed there were lifts to other floor s and department s and where we went access was made for me all doors are wide and there were disabled toilets. All departments are signposted.
I can't get an appointment. I call dead on 8am and somehow end up 29th in the queue. I waited 40 minutes on call only to be told there were no appointments left. Same thing happened the day before that and the day before that. They told me since it's urgent I should go to a walk in or call 111, but I have a gp, I shouldn't need to go wait for hours at a walk in. I only just joined this gp but I'm going to change to another before I've even met the doctors because this is ridiculous. They clearly need more doctors if they can't see to all their clients.
Very nice, kind and helpful staff. Of course, by calling and making appointment you need to wait for the connection. I don't think it is different somewhere els. I had been seeing a physiotherapist ,very good , kind and conversant professional. I am gladly to come back, but after the procedures, the pain went away. Thank you very much for the good job.
Recently left the gp service for another. I used to highly recommend this gp practice with brilliant care and I am fully aware of the pressures primary care services are feeling. However the GP receptionists are just rude. I recently had an asthma attack in the surgery when attending for repeat medication as my inhaler had stopped working.... So I don't plan to have an asthma attack. As the attack progressed I was told to attend my pharmacy for emergency medication and then told to take myself to A&e. Thankfully a nurse going to see her patient found me, care was provided and an ambulance called. After attending the following day with A&e recommendations. I initially spoke to a polite member of staff for an exceptionally rude individual to take over "with I dealt with her yesterday I'll deal with this" and then subsequently reprimanded me for attending with an asthma attack. Rude when arranging my appointments and to her colleague. When I've had other queries it's a different reasoning everytime from the receptionist with no straight story. The nurses and past gps and some of the long standing gps are the exceptions here and I am sure trying their best in a stretched underfunded service. But others need to remember to be treated with compassion and kindness. Treat the individual not the numbers.
Sometimes I wonder why there is need for a GP when one can't simply get an appointment. Tried many times to book for an appointment but they always refer to a walk in centre. What qualifies one to be booked at your centre really. How do you rank who needs a booking and not? Even calling at 8 o'clock in the morning doesn't help in any way. What I need is my doctors view on my health scares. Are some clients more important than others? Are you infringing on my right to access to health care services?Having come from a country which has very poor medical facilities and facing these hiccups here is shocking indeed.
Absolutely shocking not been able to get thru or get an appointment for so long, I need a new GP. So bad
