New laptop broke after 2 hours of use and my mum went back to replace it and instead of following their own procedure of repair, replace or refund they exchanged the laptop for one that has 500gb less and charged her £30 more and they now won't refund her the full amount as the box has been opened. Absolutely fuming and disgusting that they ripped my mum off as she doesn't understand technology that well

The physical shop itself isn't any better or worse than any other Argos. But woe betide you if you're ever foolish enough to try buying something from them online. Expect nothing but a plague of automated phonecalls, being put on hold and hung up on, and delay after delay in terms of delivery. The experience was summed up by two conversations I had when I managed to find Argos humans on the phoneline. One said the reason they couldn't deliver the next day (Saturday) was because they were having supply issues. The other, in a phoncall later that day, said there were plenty in stock and he could rearrange for a delivery on Tuesday. I can cope with people making mistakes, but I will not tolerate being lied to. Never again.
