Overall, a good experience, though we were lucky it was a quiet time just before closing. Managed to get a decent phone for my wife for the same price we would have paid on the internet direct from the manufacturer. Very quick service and the assistant helpfully spent a lot of time answering my wife's questions. My only beef, they had a lot of models advertised in the catalogue which were no longer available, which was quite misleading. I feel they should make more effort to keep their catalogue accurate and current. Be aware the store is a fair walk away from the nearest car park.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The waiting time is not long. Usualy orders are available for same day collection. This month was the first time I order something and I find I needed to wait about a week to collect it. Bear in mind this happened after almost six years of buying from Argos.
I just purchased a paper shredder from Argos and the delivery was phenomenally quick, I only ordered it yesterday, I'm sure. Also the lady driver was very polite and I wanted to show my gratitude by giving her a 'Tip', just a couple quid as I do for most every delivery person. I don't know the young ladies name but she emphatically refused to accept the tip explaining that accepting money from a customer went against her employers policy and naturally, in her own words, to accept it " was more than her job was worth". I had no intention of getting her in trouble with her employer so I thanked her I hope her employer will read this feed back.
Disappointed with the service. I bought a suitcase and mistakenly got the wrong size. I asked the return policy when purchasing the item the staff said “only if the wheels haven’t been rolled because you took it out the package” I agreed. I held the suitcase in my hand intentionally just to make sure that it was the correct size before travelling home.I stood outside the Argos shop whilst doing this because I had signal inside the shop . When I realised it wasn’t I walked back in the shop in 10/15mins from leaving. They refused to refund or exchange the product for the correct size. I had not opened it, all the sticky labels and everything was sealed and intact. The staff claimed they saw me roll it in the shop when leaving which was a lie. This is ridiculous because the item could have easily been re-soled. When I asked for the box back I saw it still behind the counter intact, staff took it to the back room to destroy it and give it to me so I couldn’t put it back in the original packaging. Argos the policy you have created is very stupid and pointless and it needs to be amended.Let me tell you why. You encourage customers to damage the property just to get a refund. That’s waste when you can even sell the product and gain more profit if it was in a better state than faulty. If it is the case the customer has left for a long period of time maybe more than 3 days since buying the item, there is obvious wear and tear and this is obvious and the item has to 100% be in the original packing then the policy stands. However if you go to other shops suitcases are sold without being in packaging all the time. Argos Colchester was very unreasonable. The Manager and staff was very dismissive and rude toned though I wasn’t even trying to engage in argument with them. I simply asked please if they can allow me to exchange and have a bigger size suitcase. I left the shop stood outside on my phone INFRONT of the shop for max 15 mins and came back inside. This is terrible service and I left feeling intimidated as the staff was unwelcoming. Even if they are going off a policy there is a better way to put things across to customers without allowing the whole staff to gang up on them. I didn’t even ask to speak to the manager because I didn’t want to fight. I felt embarrassed as everyone was watching whilst the whole staff were looking at me as if it was the highlight of their day to disappoint and disregard a customer. Kind and empathic staff need to be hired.
I love perchasing items from Argos! Good bedding and great place to buy gifts for people, they also offer a range of gift cards for friends or family, servers and lovely, and understanding if you are not happy with anything! Highly recommend going there!
Manager was rude and unhelpful with my queries. Had to get back in the que to get someone else to help me and luckily a younger sales assisstant came and helped me! You can obviously tell the manager is a bad one and I doubt I will visit Argos again if rude managers are bossing round the good staff! Off to buy amazon prime!
Argos is great, has everything you could ask for from a shop, there's just one issue; THEY HARDLY EVER HAVE ANYTHING IN STOCK!!
Unfortunately I am partially disabled and I was in terrible pain even a member of the public asked me if I was ok all the seats were taken and not one person offered me a chair my mobility scooter Is Massive so I couldn't drive in Due to all the people around me I was struggling putting my goods into my bag not one member of staff asked me if I was ok and offered to help I don't expect people to help me anyway I was just struggling badly on that day Argos in general I really like the fact that you can reserve items in advance is very good Thank you very much for your customer service regardless to my own bad experience
Friendly staff. Always the same for any argos always a bit on the slow side. Always have what i want for a reasonable price.
On Google maps it says that the store is open it's closed in the town fuels information
