The guy was very friendly and knowledgeable and happy to give advice and no hard sale . His wife is training him well lol A little joke in store will 100% going again and will be telling friends and family highly recommend
Wouldn’t go anywhere else, amazing service,stunning tanks full of life and fantastic variety of stock. The advice given is superb and NOTHING is a problem always go away knowing a bit more and with everything we need for our reef tank. Just really nice people who really know there stuff we travel and hour to come here and it’s always worth the trip. Thanks John and Christine you both clearly work very hard and it’s well worth it thanks for all of your help and advice and we will see you again soon
I can’t thank you both enough for your continuous help and amazing advice!!! To cut a very long story short my fish were poorly to the point of almost dying after receiving some very bad advice from another shop and with Amanda and Johns help and genuine care they helped me every step of the way to get them back to normal!! My two goldfish are amazingly happy and healthy now and Aqualand has become my new local fish shop though it’s an hours drive away, it’s totally worth the journey!!
Fantastic place with a good selection. Ordered a new tank and the service was first class. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. I'd highly recommend anyone interested in aquariums or wanting to get started to make Aqualand their first and only stop.
A really nice friendly and knowledgeable family run shop. The owner quite happily went to a lot of trouble in obtaining a couple of fish for me which I could not get elsewhere locally and then held them for a couple of days before I was able to get there to buy them. A good variety of both marine and freshwater fish and corals all of which looked very healthy. Never yet had a bad fish or coral from them. For the information of the owner the wrasse that I bought that neither of us could identify properly is either A Toni or a Whiptail fairy wrasse. Not sure which or possibly a cross which according to the book of words is not uncommon. But whatever a beautiful fish that has settled well in my tank.
Not the cleanest or most reliable. Staff have been friendly when I've visited but most tanks had some sort of problem, be it dead or dying fish, really dirty glass and decorative pieces. Most times when I go past it seems shut, despite opening times suggesting it should be open. Not particularly reliable.
Absolutely amazing shop if you are after black shutters for your tank. The opening hours are somewhat of a mystery. Everytime we've been to visit it has been closed when being advertised as open. Make sure you've got another aquatics place in mind to avoid disappointment like we did.
Terrible this guy has no knowledge first of all he sold me a £55 worth of phosphate remover which did not do anything and to top this off he is trying to sell me fish that will kill my other fish and not survive I had only went in for a solution to cyano bacteria and he gave me a long lecture about so called unlicensed trade just because I buy my saltwater closer. Also he told me feed fish pellet food 3 times a day and dont feed frozen sorry even I know that frozen is the best supplement for fish do they eat pellet out in the open
Terrible advice giver, I normally go to Fish alive in Durham but its a trek and I used this guy in the past for bits and bobs. Anyway I went to fish alive and my nitrate was a little high, but he said nothing to worrry about just do a water change and clean your filter and come back next week. But as I was away the following week I went home did a water change and the following day went to Aqualand, I walked around and noticed multiple dead fish in the tanks, even two large goldfish right next to each other. That should of rang alarm bells then, all I did was point the disgusting negligence to my partner kicking myself now Anyway the man tested my water and the results was the same slightly high! But he insisted I use this formula in a bottle for £9.99, this stuff wrecked my levels in my water and due to the chemicals in the water has killed 2 fish and my large shrimp which was well established In the tank as I have had him for ages! I will not be going back here, I also noticed he has one sump running multiple tanks exactly like pets at home, the reason why this is bad is some tanks were closed off due to disease! But the others are for sale that means for the people that does not know is all tanks are infected as the same water is circulating around the tanks so all the fish tanks that is running from that sump should be closed off. I have taught myself a lesson and will push for the extra journey time to fish alive, before you buy anything go to a different store and compare to his! I can't stress enough don't buy from here, you may have noticed the other reviews seem like they are from his friends!
Excellent. John has gone out of his way to help me build a fantastic marine tank. From ordering my tank to getting everything I needed. And as always fantastic health fish. Result
