Stayed over for a couple of nights with the dog on a quick visit to family in Yorkshire. Well priced, take no notice of the three pound signs on Facebook, it’s not expensive. Rooms were adequate, could do with an update, bits and pieces need renewing but it’ll be done in time. Beds were ok, room was warm, private and quiet. Bathroom and shower were ok, no frills. Breakfast was as expected, well cooked and sufficient. Didn’t get to stay for an evening meal but they looked great. Nice to be able to take the dog away with no fuss. Pub in a lovely part of the village for walks by the river. Mark and Jade have only just taken over the business and the b&b side is new to them, but nothing is too much trouble if you ask. All power to them, they will fly given time.

Having been there before i was shocked when i went inside no waiters or waitresess. Then we out there are new owners still finding their feet so give them a chance to make a go of it. The landlady ran the bar and served the food with a smile and a friendly conversation. And not a shortage of food on the plates

Amazing food, clean comfortable accommodations, and most importantly, it was warm! Friendly and welcoming with a wonderful assortment of options for breakfast. Added: As of September 2017 the Angel Inn was under new management and I have not been back since then and cannot vouch for current quality.

Pub in a lovely spot not too far from the A1. The rooms appear to be purpose built in a block across the car park. Very clean and well equipped with a shower, double bed, and, strangely, a camping chair. There was an overpowering smell of lemon air freshener which we tracked down to a plug in, we unplugged it and put it outside, but the smell lingered on. There was no meal service after 8:30, and the pub closes at 10:30, so an early finish. Breakfast was good, and the staff friendly. All in all, good value for money.
