Solid, no frills boozer is the Angel & Crown. Pleasant place to sit on the footpath, watch the world go by, and enjoy a few pints from what is a decent tap selection. Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere.
Comfy. Cool staff. An interesting assortment of beers on tap, but also your usual lager suspects. An assorted food menu that goes from pub snacks and classics including pie and mash with pies from G. Kelly to banh mi and nachos with surprisingly substantial and healthy toppings. Ideal for spending a relaxed afternoon or evening in the company of either friends or a book you can pretend to read, and just letting time fly by while surrounded by the lovely in their own way views of Cranbrook Estate.
After hosting my 30th birthday celebration at this pub I really couldn't have asked for more. It is a pub with lovely character and a cosy interior which gives off a classic local pub vibe. The large U - shaped bar had a great selection of beer and cider on tap which caters for everyone and at very reasonable prices. Great facilities include a dart board and a screen/area for a DJ and karaoke with a good sized area which can easily be used as a dance floor for party events. Mel, the current manager of the venue, was great from start to finish and really made us feel welcome and offered support and help in planning the event with us every step of the way. She clearly has lots of experience in hosting events and made things very easy for us. A solid 5 - stars.

One of the coolest, coziest pubs in the area!
Brilliant, friendly staff... Dart board and soon to be offering food as well. Since the reopening a few year ago they have managed to give the place a well-needed lick of paint without losing the character of a proper east end boozer.
I would give it a 5 but who let dogs in the pub i got bit by another customers dog while trying to go back to my table from the toilet. Even when i went toilet the person had his dog with him in there too. The staff was really friendly and thats about it
Brilliant pub. Rejuvenated by new management in 2019. I would highly recommend a visit. Staff are very welcoming and chatty. Would give it 10 stars if I could.
This is a beautiful pub with an amazing atmosphere, and the owner Mel is an absolute legend. COVID hit just as things were getting up and running for this pub, which was really sad, though I'm so glad they've survived and are back better than ever with outside seating! A&C also has the cheapest pints in our wonderful little corner of East London. Thank you!
Wonderful place with a lovely owner who did incredibly hard job restoring this place on a physical and social level. Beautiful indoor and outdoor, fantastic selection of beer, coffee, snacks. Everyone is always warmly welcome and it's a gateway to the community. The proximity of Meath Gardens and connection with this green space is very convenient and cherished. I love it and will always highly recommend it.
