Such a beautiful little spot. The views are incredible. There were no benches round the lake but we made do with a pile of rock towards the end of the lake. It was very calming to sit for 10 minutes while my partner watched birds over the hills.
Found this spot when reviewing our route on a long journey. It provided a useful break and leg stretch with the opportunity to see the wild ponies of the new forest. The pond is just a short walk from the car park.

I love Andrews Mare and its surrounding environment. Its a great place for a walk and my dog loves it here. There is a lake that is often used for boating at the weekend. Theres so much here and varied walks depending on your abilities. Lots of amazing sights to see around the forest, River, Lake, Pond and just in general the trees/wooded areas. Its fairly quiet here and the further you walk in to the forest the quieter it gets. Lovely walks through some stunning countryside. Walking boots are highly recommended here and Welly's in the winter. Enjoy the fantastic area of Andrews Mare
Long entrance gravel road; the car park is formed of several small clusters once you are in. Was nearly full on arrival but managed to squeeze into a space. Ponies are very good at spotting those groups with picnics, please be careful not to feed them
A little gem hidden away right next to the A31. The pond is a short walk from the car park. You will often see RC boats zooming around on it. Some really nice walks take you to some lovely views too.

We love Andrews Mare. It is perfect for picnics and walks. Never found it super busy. Though some people use the pond for racing rc boats which is not that peaceful.
