Stopped here briefly whilst passing with my son. We was immediately made to feel very welcome. Seems to be a warm, family friendly pub. Food served and a decent range of draught ale's available. It was just a quick pint on the way home... Oh and a bag of pork scratching for sustenance. I'll definitely be returning with the family for an afternoon in the garden and a bite to eat. Recommended.

Very nice food, good prices and lovely staff. Dogs are allowed in the bar area so you can eat there with your dog.
To put it simply... A lovely village pub, that is dog friendly and serves good food + beer!
Enthusiastic and helpful staff. The service was brilliant at all times. Varied and reasonably priced menu and the portions generous. Ambience in this pub was excellent. I have nothing but praise for all concerned at the Anchor and highly recommend this establishment.
Me and a friend went today to check the place out as we have heard ghostly tales, we are poscasters that are pre recording out Halloween special and a visit to the legendary Canewdon church. Food in this pub was lovely, staff are very polite and can't do enough for you. The character of the pub is great...highly recommended, I will bring my wife here soon. Loved it!

Excellent welcoming and friendly pub which serves excellent food. My wife and i ate there twice during a recent visit to the area. Food served us of a consistently high standard and good value for money.
Had a Senior Citizen Christmas lunch, very reasonable price and very friendly staff, a really enjoyable time.
