I live locally in the area and I see your drivers quite frequent. The reason why I am writing this is the standard of your drivers is concerning. On two separate occasions today. I have had one driver tailgating me. In the wet weather. The second occasion I seen a driver speeding down ball hill well over 40mph when it's a 30mph! Very concerning to be honest. And gives the company a bad name!
Considering the high demand for taxi services and the incredible set of circumstances both the drivers and business face during these times, I wouldn't use any other firm to get me from A to B. Either in an emergency or for routine trips. Most of the driver's work under tough conditions, putting in alot of hours, dealing with all walks of life. Cars are fresh and clean. Very fairly priced, I found them to be the cheapest around and most reliable. All the best for the future Amber. Looking forward to seeing the progression in the next decade.
Have used Amber for over 20 years and apart from a few times that they have been late the service has been pretty good but unfortunately last night has prompted me to review! The driver and the car smelled so bad of body odour I had to face away from the driver and have my window down as did my wife and child! I would be surprised if he had a UK driving licence as he was speeding and at one point over shot a mini roundabout as he obviously had very little local knowledge!! Wont be using again!
Really good service, I would like to mention a lovely driver name John, Car 43. We had a nice conversation while he drove me to the destination, he's a decent guy, even give me the option to choose which way I would love to go. Definitely will use amber again
The girls on reception are great however I booked a taxi on Saturday to take me to work it was a man I spoke to first thing Tuesday morning the time was booked in for 5:30 am I waited till 5:40 a.m. and then rang amber to see where my taxi was when I spoke to the lady on the phone she told me she had nothing booked in for me which now meant I was stranded and late for work . The next morning they sent two taxis to pick me up later that following day I rang up has usual to book my taxi for work i was told nothing till 6:15 am I told the lady I'd be late for work and that I'd need to ring my boss .I rang back 15 mins later to be told by another lady that I could have half past five which I needed. I must stress the lady's are lovely and I don't blame them one bit . Later that day I was picked up by a very rude driver call sign 103 who was on his phone didn't have a clue where he was going and because it was a short journey the meter said 3 pounds he then said oi you owe me 6 pounds I asked why he said because he had to come from Kirkby to get me . Has the weeks go on amber seem to be getting worse it is causing me stress and anxiety has I need to be at work for 6 I get that this isn't always possible has they are very busy but for someone to take my booking with 3 days notice and not even bother to turn up or contact me . Needs improvement.
I pre booked a taxi last Friday for yesterday Sunday to collect me from the River Gardens Restaurant on Long Row, Belper, for 2.30, stressing , no earlier!! The taxi arrived just before 2 pm.I asked him to wait while I finished my meal, which he did, for 10 minutes.As a result I had to cut short my meeting with friends. I did not want to send the driver away, it was not his fault. He showed me on his phone the taxi was booked for 2 pm. Surely it can’t be difficult to get a time correct! It is unfair to the driver as well as the client. I have to say, well done to the driver.A pity he had to put up with this kind of inefficiency. I won’t be using Amber again, and only did so because Terrys’s, who have provided exemplary service in the past, don’t work on Sundays. Sue CartwrightService: Limousines
I'll have to agree with the other reviewers on here and comment on the driving standard. I appreciate that for taxi drivers time is money, but it doesn't excuse bad driving. One of their drivers overtook me in lane two of the M1 at about 07:35 on 16/01/23, cut back in at a gap of about 6ft no indicator and then proceeded to sit up the bum of a car in front of them. If you have your firm's logo printed on your vehicle, think about how you drive.
Amber taxi driver charged me £20 for exact same taxi journey that Abacus Taxi charged me £13, on the same day! There was no justification for such a big hike in fare. Won't be using Amber again.
Used for taxi to/from airport, appealing service driver coming home was an hour late,skipped red lights & cut others up. Also just seen another driver peeing down my road!
Car seats were very stained but the driver was helpful and took the most direct route. Took 20 mins to arrive, rather than the ten mins promised, but fair pricing.
