Wonderful large king room with kitchenette. Great to be able to do our own cooking for a couple of nights. Neil was a great manager with attention to detail. He put the heater on in our room so it was a lovely temperature upon arrival. The day it rained he loaned us umbrellas. Location in the West end was fabulous opposite the botanical gardens and a 5 minute walk to supermarkets, shops and pubs. 10 minute walk to the Glasgow university and museum and Kelvin Grove gallery. Would stay again if ever in Glasgow. Rooms: Large comfortable beds kitchenette and heater Walkability: In the West end walk to everywhere
The location is perfect for us as we were visiting out son at the uni. The carpark at the rear is very small and access is very tight however it's free. The breakfast was very good the only gripe was our room. The shampoo cover in the bathroom kept coming off when using it also the door lock was very stiff. The dressing table was placed in the corner next to the bathroom door which we found odd not only was it in the way but it didn't get any natural light from the window. It could of done with a long mirror too. Overall it was good .
We stayed here recently during our trip around Scotland. The Ambassador Hotel was our favorite accommodations by far. Our rooms were spacious, beautiful and very clean. From booking to departure we received exceptional service from Neil. The location was perfect. Easy access to Byres Road, the University, Kelvin walk, and the Botanical Gardens. On our next visit to Glasgow we will be staying here. Nearby activities: Byres Road, University of Glasgow, Kelvin Walk, Botanical Gardens
I stayed here for a work conference. The people were lovely and very kind. It is definitely value for money. It is a converted terrace house and has a warm, homely feel. Good breakfast. Right on the Kelvin Walkway for lovely walks. Only slightly down part is the electric shower which isn't so strong Walkability: Easy to get into the city center
The location of this hotel is great and the workers here are lovely but for a single business room I wouldn't recommend it. In my room, the carpets on the floor are mouldy with a red stain on the ground, and every now and then, you can smell the mould which isnt really apeasing. They definitely wouldn't walk barefoot at all. The room itself is alright for 1 night i can handle it. The bathroom is nice and clean, so I'm not going to say bad to that. The room is a little bit covered with layers of dust. It's a nice cosy room in general with some tweets, and it would have been great.
Great hotel, in a fantastic location close to Byres road. Staff were helpful and friendly and honoured my request of a ground floor room for my parents. When I told the receptionist that I was checking in on behalf of my parents who would be arriving late at night, he said he’d nip in and leave some lights on and put the heating on for them so the room would be nice and cozy for their arrival. The room was ever so slightly on the small side, but clean and cozy. Both my parents have already said the want to stay here next time they’re in Glasgow!
My reservation was made incredibly last minute when i realized all the sleeping i was planning on the plane didnt happen. The room was very convenient on first floor but not much wider than the bed was long. That said, staff was awesome and very helpful, location was way better than i had time to appreciate being right across the street from botanIcal gardens and paths along the Kelvin river. Breakfast was generous and very flavorful. My first try at black pudding and potatoe scones. All in all a place i will happily return to again Food & drinks: Breakfast was one of the best ive ever had as a hotel courtesy.
Great hotel, even better than expected. Lovely location opposite the botanical gardens. Made very welcome by the staff. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Rooms very clean and adequate. Not luxurious but perfect for what we needed. A good stay.Rooms: 4/5
Really bad. Got a sore back of the matress, you can heary anybody moving anytime in the whole building. No easy parking, no lift, bad breakfast. 125£ per night. Your choice. Rooms: You hear every step anybody does in the building. Small, uncomfy matresses, tiny bathroom. Food & drinks: If you like Scotish Breakfast, it‘s okayish. Otherwise you can‘t eat. Noteworthy details: You can smell the fat of the kitchen in the whole building. There‘s no lift.
Friendly service and nice location. The building is very old so there are some plumbing issues. Breakfast was okay. Overall a nice stay.Rooms: 3/5
