Avoid at all costs. I didn't have a choice as chosen by my insurance company but what an awful experience. They had my car for over 2 months, due to "the amount of cars we have to fix" and not beginning work on the vehicle for two weeks because they were waiting for approval, approval they had never requested! Returned the car with an engine warning light on and strange noise, which wasn't present when collect 9 weeks prior, but this was put don't to "a rodents investation where I park my car". Girls on the front desk were pleasant, hence them even receiving a star, but the so called manager had the most awful customer service in the world, even acknowledging he was not doing anything about the situation. Used every excuse they could think of, even blaming the supplier for sending damaged goods and stating they don't know when the part will even arrive, to then find out from the supplier they were fully aware they would be expecting one that day which then arrived a day light. I'll stop now but a disaster from start to finish, just hope my car doesn't fall apart when we use over the coming weeks! Appreciate experiences may vary, but I for one have never experienced such customer service and will avoid at all costs!

Extremely dissatisfied with my vehicle repair - insurance company suggested Alton Cars & it was local/convenient.
However the (minor passenger door) damage took 8 WEEKS !!! 
They LIED about the availability of parts (my car was 12 months old) and  told the insurance company & myself that the correct parts were not to be found WORLDWIDE ??? 
So my vehicle was going to be over £1100 less valuable  ....
I contacted my local dealership who had actually sourced the parts on behalf of Alton Cars - UNBELIEVABLE Complaints Dept & senior management promised me an internal review but I only received a patronizing letter - SO DISAPPOINTED

Decent repair  job but not to the highest standard or finish I would have expected small finishing details were lacking
