A warm & friendly welcome After foolishly struggling with luggage receptionist said had they known (disabled); help/assistance would have been available. Staff took all my things to room & assured me anything at all ring reception. On leaving they remembered & had everything carried out. Very cheerful pleasant & most helpful. Dining room good eve meal. Quite good b'fast too. Would stay again.

Very helpful staff/friendly and a lovely hotel with warm welcoming open fireplaces to sit by. A nice mix of old and new. Impressed by the genuineness of place and staff who couldn't do enough to make it a pleasant stay.

A little tired. Staff seemed overwhelmed by the amount of work they had to do. The waiting staff were generally quite elderly to be doing such a physical job. Hard to think of a gentler way of putting it. The starter was ice-cold and straight from the fridge, which didn't bode well but the main course was fab. Everything piping hot, best vegetables and roasties I've ever had in a restaurant! Puds fine. So, a mixed impression but high standard of main course means I'll be back, probably for Sunday lunch!

Stayed here on business. The staff were friendly on reception. The rooms and corridors are in need of a bit of TLC but the bathroom was brand new, and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was ok, generally it's a good hotel especially for the price.

Luncheon meal of good quality, portions very ample, asked during service of the main & pudding sections, if you required your plate topping up. Wines at reasonable prices. Staff very helpful. I can recommend here as as a good venue to visit.
