When visiting my mum in Stirling I became unwell and required antibiotics. The surgery were brilliant quickly organising a prescription as a temporary patient. The reception staff and the nurse practitioner were extremely helpful and friendly. This is a great surgery can’t imagine it being so quick and efficient in the south of England.
My mother is just out of the hospital with a very serious broken shoulder I phoned up Allan park regarding my mums changes to her meds and her badly swollen feet no one was helpful they were rude and kept saying I'm going to hang up now everytime I phoned no help no answers just I have to hang up more rudeness to patients and family eventually dr steel phoned very concerned about my mum she stated but not enough to visit her on the Friday or the Monday Tuesday no not until the wednesday late afternoon to review her meds when my mum had none left as she had not use attended to my mum on the previous Friday Monday Tuesday so mum had no painkillers left. This is such bad practice leaving an 87 year old woman with a very serious broken shoulder & Altziemers without her medication & she didnt even examine my mother no she didnt even look at her medication no she just said shes stopping her morphine that was prescribed by hospital doctor for mums severe pain in her broken shoulder no she had not contacted the hospital doctor she decided on her own mum doesnt need it? Thats such awful practice & not professional my mum is now in agony at night since dr steel has refused her the pain relief of the morphine it is ridiculous and my mother was to be on a long term antibiotic for an ongoing UTI but dr steel would not give her another antibiotic without a red top sample but it was recorded in the hospital that nothing was showing up in her samples but she had all the symptoms of a UTI but no dr steel was not interested in mums situation or her shoulder pain an 87 year old patient being neglect by her gp is wrong and dr steel & the Alan park surgery should be ashamed bad practice & laziness of dr steel leaving my mum for six days before a house visit only to remove morphine for her pain & refuse to prescribe an antibiotic?!! This morning received a formal letter of warning that if I'm rude again to her staff we will be removed from allan park surgery no apology for dr steel not making a home visit for my 87 year old mum just put of the hospital until 6 days later 6 days no care or respect terrible practice & lazy standards of neglect by dr steel!! My mum is my concern I'm her 24 /7 fulltime carer it's my responsibility to complain when allan park are not looking after my mums health needs correctly there desk staff are very rude unhelpful when you phone them to complain about my mums treatments they withhold from her. Dr steel should not have removed my mums rights to pain relief without contacting the hospital doctor it's wrong I'm waiting on a letter of apology now for her staffs rudeness to me and dr Steele lack of respect for myself & mum as human beings!! they wont even do doctors visits the girls rudely tell you on phone you wont get a gp coming out what that's wrong & awful practice??? My mum has been abused by allan park surgery she has a UTI now I'm left to deal with her emotional symptoms and incontinence because of dr steels lack of care standards and knowledge of my mums needs where UTI symptoms are concerned I told her contact her doctor at hospital to get information about mums meds changes they had made but she didnt do that too lazy & mums not important enough. the Alan park who prescribed her the sleeping tablet cheapest brand on market that got removed & mum got taken off them after 4 years as the side effects gave people Altziemers which my mum was a victim of GP greed & allan park refused to have her examined for that for two years of me telling them her memory had strangely changed but covering there own backs for ruining my mums life with there greed trying to save money. I still have a packet of those sleeping tablets incase I need them for it will be manslaughter when mum dies! But Allan park surgery's not the surgery it once was with great caring thorough doctors and friendly staff. Now its dont care, costs too much, mum's got Altziemers so shes as good as dead, shrugs of shoulders, they dont listen or care & have ruined my mums memories & life it's awful! My poor wee mum died murdered by her GP..
Allan Park Medical Practice, have cared for my 90year old mother so well. I cannot recommend them highly enough, they are kind, caring and nothing is too much trouble. They always call back as we live distant from mum and will do anything they are able for her. A gold star multidisciplinary team
Cannot recommend them less! Absolutely awful reception and nurse staff, they have no empathy for their patients, no care when presented with genuine worry and fear from patients about their health. They cannot successfully complete prescriptions and send them to a local pharmacy in time for monthly pick ups. I doubt they would care if this incompetency resulted in someone's death. If I could give them a zero stars I would and I am reporting them to the local council or police or somebody the next time this happens. Also just to note, this is not because of covid-19 lockdown, this was the case in 2019 since me and my partner have been there as well. DO NOT GO
I have been with this GP less than a year. So far, I've had an appointment cancelled 5 minutes before as I've just walked around the corner to the practise, in the rain mind you, due to them not having to facilities to check what I booked the appointment for, which was booked weeks prior. I've had another two rescheduled, one a good half month later. Today was the last straw, I suffer from anxiety, I get panicked very quickly and become paranoid easily. The practice is closed and yet I've just missed a call and received a voicemail to call them back?! I am appalled! I just tried to call back a good 10-15 times and have left a voicemail. Nothing so far, it's 8:26 now and they called about 16 minutes ago. What am I to do? I now have to wait till the morning with all these thoughts through my head and all these bad reasons they could possibly be calling me for. I've had enough, I will be asking for help to move me to another practise, should there be one looking for patients.
In a world where non serious health issues can become imponderable problems for folk in the UK the Allan Park Medical Practice stands head and shoulders above my last local surgery which was ultimately taken over by the NHS. My experience with them has been very positive despite the difficulties one infers that most practices experience these days in taking on new or locum GPs. Notwithstanding the positive however, it would have been impossible for me personally to have been allowed to enroll with this practice hadn't my wife already been enrolled.
I have been with Allan Park for 10 years. The staff are great, friendly and helpful. The G.P's themselves are very good. I have seen all of them at one point or another over 10 years. Dr.Gaskill, who is noe retired, was one of the best and most honest doctors I have ever had. Dr.Steele I would likewise, she really listens, makes you feel comfortable and seems to really care about her patients. Two newer doctors Dr.Dunsmore is very good, really listens, gives you time and you don't feel rushed and she is very easy to talk to. Dr. Phall, I have only seen a couple of times but he seems very genuine and friendly. I suffer from really bad anxiety and other problems and find it really hard to talk my problems and usually feel very uncomfortable. The staff and doctors at Allan park have never once been rude to me or made me feel uncomfortable. I'm very happy that I'm with them as they genuinely seem to care and want to help. I went through a really bad time a few years ago after a break up and doctor Stelle was brilliant and really took time out to help me and make sure I was safe and sound. Very good practice
The staff has always been very kind to me, and I am impressed by how much care Dr Fyall has given me, considering how obnoxious the process of finding the right med has been! He is a great doctor and a great person. I'm happy I got assigned this clinic!
My father John Henderson passed away last year on 25 th Sept...Dr Steele and Dr Dunsmore..I cannot thank you enough for all you did for him while he was in your practise..he loved both these doctors and I am positive they both loved him he was was a gentleman to the end..always with his collar and tie...thank you...I have just had a consultation over the phone and I did not catch her name but she was amazing with me and my problem.thankyou so much...Elizabeth Jones
NHS is really useless here. They don't treat you properly and neither try to understand their patients needs.Filled with people with only bookish knowledge. They don't even make an effort to help the patient feel better. It was the worst experience ever.Doctors in India are really way better.I guess this NHS is the worst part of Scotland otherwise such a nice country.
