Mid-December visit Southend had fish and chips best fish and chips ever I had highly recommended

When I saw the location right under Southend pier I expected the food to be expensive & tasteless, how wrong I was! Tasty fresh fish & what my partner said were the best chips she’s ever tasted! The prices were reasonable so get here & enjoy a real seaside experience!

My girlfriend and I had a large cod and chips and it was fantastic, the best fish and chips we've ever had. The fish was fresh and the batter was crisp and not overly oily. Staff were friendly and we would definitely recommend Alfie's.

Awesome service. Dead nice owner and lovely waitress. Food was Devine. Golden brown chips. A* all round.

Thought I would have a traditional Cod and Chips by the sea side.  So I ordered a medium fish n chips for £8:50. The fish was poor quality and over cooked or been sitting a while.... chips were ok, garnish was fresh. not sure the vinegar was malted.. and then charged me £1.50 for a can of Coke....

Delicious food. I think the best fish and chips Ive ever had. Not greasy at all and the fish tasted so fresh.  Very friendly staff.
