This is a really interesting place to visit. It is extremely intimate, with the ruins and mosaics right there in front of your eyes. There is a small museum with objects, and then you are taken on a roughly 30 minute guided tour to see the old town wall, villa ruins and future digging sites out "in nature". Our tour guide was first class, and since the group was small and the setting informal, we could absolutely ask any questions we wanted and learn plenty of history (including 18th-century Yorkshire politics). A very pleasant excursion, especially if combined with lunch at the local pub.

A lovely short walk around the ruins of an old Roman town. You need some imagination to see the structures, but the pieces of mosaic are superb. The staff there where superb when we visited, very informative and helpful.

Great learning experience for my 7 year old daughter who has been working on a project. And learning about Roman history.
