I ordered from them and collected my order hoping I would enjoy it with my family, instead I received a cockroach in my food I was mortified and never received a refund. My girlfriend was sick for one week and I had a disease. we contacted the company several times explaining the situation and the best they could offer was a partial refund for one of the meals. I had spent £65 pounds of my hard earned money that day and all honesty, I had to throw everything away just due to the situation. I had given this company several months to comply with a response to my email but I never got a email back therefore I have posted this to make other aware of the situation. PLEASE BE AWARE OF COCKROACHES IN YOUR FOOD! To the Alcatraz response: YES, you offered us a wine and dine experience plus a full refund after contacting you several times. but why would we trust you again after our poor experience. We asked for £700, due to our health being ruined by your restaurant for the week we were ill and being unable to work, I think it was fair over our end to ask for compensation. If we were to "ransom you" we would've asked for something unrealistic. Quite frankly you should stop acting like a baby in a pram and admit to your mistake and take responsibility and pay up for your poor restaurant hygiene.
Great food and amazing wine. The staff is always nice, friendly and super sweet. The price is but higher, but the food is just as good If you visit Bournemouth, you should have dinner here. You wont regret it!
So glad I found this lovely restaurant in amongst the high street chains in Bournmouth. I stopped off for breakfast which was fantastic but the lunch menu looked just as good. Friendly & profrssional staff looked after me and I was surprised the prices were so reasonable - felt like a five star experience. Will come back next time im back in Bournemouth would highly recommend

Really good food and an amazing staff
Food was delicious, cocktails were great, and the atmosphere was nice, but the staff didn't speak very good English, and they were somewhat rude to our large party. However, they did take a booking for 13 on a Saturday night, so that was a plus. Also, the prices are pretty good for such nice food. The portions were sufficient without being overwhelmingly large.
Went here for the first time in a few years it had disappointed years ago, after previously being excellent. We are very glad we decided to give it another try. Starters of prawns, and bruschetta from specials both were excellent. Mains of penne arrabiata and lasagne were also excellent. Service was attentive and friendly but not overly so.
We are a newly retired couple and when we saw an offer of two steak meals for £32 we thought we would treat ourselves on the second of our two days stay in Bournemouth, so we booked a table for two. We were courteously shown to our seats and asked how we would like our steaks. Twenty minutes later we were asked again and by the time we were asked a third time people who came in after us were finishing their meal. We asked three time for one steak medium and another well done. We were eventually given a medium and a steak so rare and poor that my wife could not cut it.  Alcatraz receives some very good reviews and you, I am sure, will be able to give one too. Just try not to be old, and buy something straight from the menu or you too could become the invisible people.
Two of my friends and I came to your restaurant early this afternoon for lunch. As we went towards the table outside, we were rudely stopped by the waitress who exclaimed "Excuse me! Can I help you?". I said "We'd like to have some lunch". Without saying anything, she walked away. Very confused, we proceeded to the table. As we walked towards the table, we were watched by another waiter. My friend asked him if It was okay to sit at that table, he said "why are you asking, you are already there ". The waitress came back with menus, put them on the table and without speaking to us walked away again. Very confused and unwelcomed we decided to leave. On the way out, same waitress walked passed us without any acknowledgment. It was a very unpleasant and confusing experience.
