Actually, I went to Liverpool Street station WH Smith today to buy a one power bank. and I had a excellent conversation with their team member. I had a very good experience here. Their staff are very friendly. Specially I would like to mention the guy named arka. He served me very well. I am very happy with his friendly behaviour. Really appreciate it. Thank you for nice service
Disgusting. I just came in to buy a drink while waiting for my train, and the security guard literally chased me around the store, stopping right behind me. It was so obvious that I turned and asked him if he had a problem with me. He walked away without saying a word. Please address the racism in your store—this is unacceptable.
Joke of a shop. Broken fridges. Meal deal you can't figure out because some sandwiches count and some don't and the labels are 1cm2. I hope wh smiths finally goes out of business soon.
Cold atmosphere. No one to offer help. I was trying to find 1 book 10 minutes. Same books on the shelves. I would suggest they change design of shelves and make book finding easier, especially if there is not enough staff on the shop floor.
I had entered the store at 14:04 and I was looking for a late gift for my grandmother as I was visiting her and I don’t see her often. Minding my own business I then was confronted by I assume was the area manager as he was in a black suit compared to the other staff which were in uniform. He had asked me “You Alright?!” Across the store as if he judged me by my appearance and chose to pick me out from the other people in shop. I had felt confused and had he approached, so did the clueless security women and at that point I was made to feel like I did something wrong when all I did was browse for a gift and when I brought him up on it, he answered “I thought I recognised you” even though I have never seen him in my life and he only said that as he felt embarrassed in front of the other customers. I had decided to drop it and not make a scene as there was other customers in the shop, so I simply decided to walk out and shop elsewhere. Regardless it was unprofessional and I left feeling embarrassed amongst being quite angry. I don’t know what the name of the manager was but he was a mixed and very short man with glasses. Shameful!
The two stars is for being able to get a cheap packet of tissues at a WHSmith branch and the reasonable customer service from the male member of staff who was behind the counter at the time 09/09/2023 09:07 - is he the store manager or a supervisor? I certainly should not have this level of hassle when supposedly just popping in to buy this product while on my way to central Essex. For starters, why do none of the three self-service machines have a cash option? Using a card to pay 99p is ridiculous. My main complaints though although they stem from the above are the faulty machines and poor staff-customer communication. The middle machine froze when I tried to both swipe and insert my Halifax Visa debit card and the left hand machine summoned unwanted customer service when it was unable to recognise the product a Paloma pack of 10 tissues. Having finally paid for the product at the right hand machine, I saw a black female member of staff notice the problem with the left hand one and I reported the middle was frozen. I thought I’d made it clear enough that I’d already paid for the tissues and if I used my card the card holder was back to normal to stop the freezing I’d be double-charged, but she insisted I did it. Even if she thought I was talking about the middle machine when I said I’d already paid for it, a why would I say I’d be double-charged when it was clear the transaction hadn’t come through b I thought it would have been pretty obvious I’d paid for the product as I wasn’t standing at the problem machine and was poised to leave the shop. That was the thanks I got for reporting a faulty machine - wasting time with an argument and dealing with a refund for a payment I warned was going to happen! If it was just a case of the two machines being faulty and my just paying for the tissues and reporting the middle machine without any hassle, I would be OK to go to this store again, but as it stands I shall not be going back until you can assure me the machines are fixed. Looking to employ staff who have a better command of English and are more observant of their customers rather than people who are liable to aggravate the situation needs to be seriously considered as well.
None of the fridges keep anything cold - all the drinks come out as if they've been warmed up
Got scammed here. Would actively avoid buying here
Energy Efficient Chillers that don’t, you know, chill anything. Very useful.
What a useless shop that the fridge is not even working and management is not able provide.. not possible to buy even sandwiches
