A hidden gem in Manchester - top service and good food. Check it out!
I’ve been here twice now and it’s great for a date night. The Italian people who run it come and take your coat off you and you’re seated in the really nicely decorated and clean restaurant. Then the food is super tasty. There’s a lot of seafood but many other dishes too for people like me who don’t like seafood. Ask about the ravioli of the day too as they have some good ones. All of the wine is tasty too, I’ve had a few different ones.
The food was very nice and fairly reasonably priced. Considering how relatively quiet it was in the restaurant the service was less than stellar, in several occasions members of our party were without drinks and no waiters to be seen. The restaurant was also incredibly warm, which considering it was not sunny outside and was after 8pm was a little worrying as to what it would be like during a hot day. I would return as the food was worth another try.
My friends and I ate at this restaurant after reading the reviews, and we were not disappointed! The food is delicious, the service is great, and the owner came to check on us twice while we were there. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce, and I had enough food for two meals. The decor is nice and original. We will definitely return to Al-Bacio the next time that we are here.
I had never heard of this place until I was given a Groupon for my birthday. It is one of those places that you wouldn't just stumble upon. On arrival on a Sunday afternoon we were the only people in there which was a little strange. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who showed offered to choose a table. The offer for us was any steak, a desert and a glass of wine. The steak I had was decent but lacking any potatoes. Also the amount of veg was very small. For desert the afogato was excellent. I'm only rating 3 stars as the place was lacking ambience and the food was only OK.
Just had an amazing meal here tonight. Stubbled on it by mistake. So glad we did. Amazing food and friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. The whole meal was amazing from start to finish. Highly recommend
Traditional Italian but not that impressive sadly. Certainly one of the city's oldest Italians and have to say that when asked about something the staff would do their best to help. That said we got a cocktail that didn't have alcohol in it until it was sent back. I got a pint of lager in a glass that smelt as though it had been washed in dirty water and had to go back. Not a great start! Food was slow coming out of the kitchen but was nice when we got it. Given that there was one other table in the restaurant at the time of ordering it was a long time in all honesty. I don't think I'll be returning I'm afraid and it saddens me as I would have preferred to be more positive about a restaurant I've walked past for decades
The whole experience was really just so-so, I had the ribs as a starter and the Calzone for main. To be honest every positive of the restaurant had an accompanying negative. The rib meat was well cooked and tasty but the sauce didn't really add much to the taste. The Calzone's filling was good however the Calzone only seemed half filled and seemed like it was mostly bread with nothing inside. The staff were all cheerful and friendly, however getting our food took quite a long time. Finally, the price is in the mid to expensive range. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant but I'd neither discourage a visit. Don't go out of your way to visit here but don't deliberately avoid it either.
Loved it. We went here for Sunday lunch and it was superb. Food was excellent, staff went the extra mile to look after us and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. We will DEFINITELY return!
Cosy place and nice staff. Sat for 1 hour and 40 min before main meal arrived. Garlic mushrooms were of a similar consistency to Campbells soup but the ribs were very nice. Would I come here again, definitly no I'm afraid
