Boothroyd decided on a 5* review based on the beer range. They sell six real ales from the Bridgehousr brewery. Only had their beers a couple of times before. Good pints of Golden and also a Pale Ale. A large pub that has most tables laid out for food. A pricey pub menu. A good size beer garden. My missus rates the wine. Definitely a destination pub for a night out.
I really enjoyed this place, went for a Sunday lunch which was very nice and reasonably priced. Cheesecake was a bit of a small portion for the price. Next time I'd just have a coffee because the mains were a good size. Great that it had an accessible toilet. Beer garden was really big and looked very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. Will definitely return.
Staff were friendly however drinks and food were very slow and the food was terrible. Went on a busy Monday, maybe they didn’t anticipate how busy it was going to be, waited best part of an hour for two mediocre “burritos”. These consisted of rather bland vegetables and chicken in a wrap with what tasted like microwaveable rice, with some curdled soured cream on the side. I would be fascinated to see what their spaghetti meatball burrito would have been like, and all of their other burrito concoctions. I think a menu revamp would benefit. I don’t think we will be going back any time soon.
Drinks were great, especially the cocktail of the week. Our server Kim was super lovely and friendly, even shared her cocktail recipe with us! Will definitely be back.Service: 5/5
Excellent food, good value for money the building and it's surroundings was really nicely done and the staff were helpful and friendly. They had a really good gluten free selection and they helped us out singing happy birthday to my grandson. It couldn't have been nicer. Will definitely be going again.
Recommended by a friend. We had a fantastic meal. I can't recommend it highly enough. Next time we visit the area, we'll definitely be back.Food: 5/5
This is a lovely old pub serving some great food and beer. There is an onsite Microbrewery and the Ales are well produced and very tasty. On the day of the visit, a hog roast was available in the beer garden for £6.50, for a very generous serving of lunch. The building itself is a Grade II Listed Building standing within what was part of the Old East Riddlesden Hall Estate, The Airedale Heifer is a Former Barn evidence of which you can still see today, in the L Shaped Building and Thick Wooden Beams. The pub is named after the famous Airedale Heifer cow of the early 1800s which resided on the nearby East Riddlesden Hall Estate , The Cow is still on record as the heaviest cow in the UK it was said to have been 3.5 metres over 11 feet long and weighed more than a ton
Stopped here for an evening meal, having researched the best places to eat in the area and we were not disappointed. The building is well laid out, full of random bric-a-brac and the staff are super friendly. The food choices mean some tough decisions - so many wonderful things to choose from. When it arrived it tasted as good as it looks. Everything was freshly cooked and tasted great. Portions are very generous and the process were very reasonable. Definitely stop if you are in the area.
Worth a second visit. Starter arrived amazingly quick. Great main course and dessert. Paying bill took a while. Garden is great. Better in summer no doubt. Staff great. Will be backFood: 5/5
Lovely place and lovely food, but I felt very short changed as a vegetarian. Very little choice - veggie sausages with the veg from the Sunday dinners or vegetable lasagne. It felt like I'd gone back in time 30 years. I hope the choice improves when the new menu is complete but it felt very much like vegetarians were only catered for grudgingly.
