Big thank you to Mike, one of the volunteers who took the time to show me round the shed today. Many thanks Mike for all the information about the old buses & vehicles. You made my visit to Leicester all the better! I would recommend anyone to take the time out of there day to visit this small museum, very enjoyable. Super friendly staff.
We were fortunate enough to have visited during one of their event days, very present day with loads to see and do, steam train was running for £0.50 per person so a bargain for the experience and no long queues. Well done to voulenteers on the day for making things run smooth
Free to enter. Some great examples of beam engines. A selection of old cinema projectors etc. Next door to the space centre, so you can combine the visit. Will only take an hour or so to look around. This is the next place you must see while you are visiting Leicester. Near National Space Centre. While you approach Pioneer Statue behind, you can see a massive digger from the past century by the main gate. This is the place...Industrial collection of machines and items used it everyday life 100 years ago and more. You can see one of the first electric cars inside the building , how works toilet, how tram works , etc. Great interaction between visitors and exhibits. Excellent place for family day. No admission fee . Recommended
Lovely little place, unfortunately it was raining but the experience inside was good. There is plenty of information inside and old things to view which is very interesting. Lovely staff and a few little souvenirs to buy.
True wonder of the Victorian age, a place of great power but enhanced by typical Victorian attention to detail in the ornamentation. The huge pumps, boilers and pipework are the stars of the show but the many and varied exhibitions are well worth spending time exploring because they truly bring bygone ages to life. Congratulations to the volunteers and paid staff on a wonderfully presented museum. It is a great credit to Leicester.

Great day out exploring the museum and taking 2 guided tours engine shed and pump courtesy of very knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers. Highly recommended
