The Abbeycentre used to be a great draw for us. The insane traffic during peak times has driven us elsewhere. The night we called, to get inspiration for an 80th birthday gift, half the shops were closed. Mind you, the corridors of the centre were mostly empty. I hope for happier times ahead for the centre and many other dead or dying shopping areas in the country.
Great centre. Plenty of shops, clean and great food.nnBeware of chancers in the car park though. As we arrived a man appeared at his car accusing us of hitting his car. He was really rude and persistent. Our 11 year old had got out and he was accusing her of hitting his car. I opened our door and no marks were near the level of our door but he was adamant she did it. My daughter is autistic and was very upset. I ended up saying unless our car door adjusted or his car dropped in the matter of 2 minutes it wasn't possibly her who caused the damage and took pictures. He was still adamant she had done this damage and left.
Great place to spend a few hours or to enjoy a day out. Great range of shops and cafes, as well as free parking. What's not to love!
Excellent service and staff in Tui Abbey centre so helpful and friendly .Special mention to Scots Emma for booking our holiday ,nothing was a problem .She went out of her way to make sure we got a Great Holiday with no Hassle .Thank you
A severely disabled elderly relative visited Abbeycentre a couple of months ago for a rare day out. Their carer parked in a disabled parking bay with their blue badge, and as my relative is unable to walk, they slowly mobilised around the centre using a mobility aid. Had a nice time and gave trade to a dozen outlets, including a couple of meal breaks. A few weeks later the carer received a £100 parking fine in the post for overstaying; yes, Abbeycentre penalises its customers for giving too much trade to their outlets. A detailed letter was sent to the Abbeycentre Manager a month ago, and neither an acknowledgement nor reply was received. Just about sums up the contempt this place has for its customers. Best avoided unless you enjoy dealing with cut throat parking contractors.
