Been training at 1st Legion for almost a year and I only have positive things to say about it. Great community with a mix of people from all backgrounds and experience levels. The coaches are top level and will bring out the best in you.
Trained with 1st Legion for 2 years whilst studying at University. Probably one of the best gyms I've been at considering facilities, trainers, professionalism and price. Unfortunately no longer living in Leicester now otherwise would still be in there now.
Amazing coaches, people and atmosphere! 100% recommend to anyone that wants to pick up or pick back up a combat sport!

They are very friendly and prepared, and you can clearly see them passion in teaching on every level... I really love to train with theme even if it was Just my First One today, they made me feel at home.. thanky you so much !!!
Update: Started doing BJJ and submission grappling and suffice to say, I've absolutely fallen in love with it. Coaches go out there way to make sure you feel welcome from the get go and are genuine people. The training partners I've met during my time here and the atmosphere the gym has created leads to a close community which is rare to find anywhere else.
From the moment I stepped into this gym I was made welcome and I was accepted into the team with open arms.since going to this gym I have had my ups and downs with physical and mental health problems and I can honestly say from just training down there I have met some amazing people and good friends who helped me every step of the way on my journey to overcome my problems in the gym and home! If that’s not good enough reason to get down I don’t know what is but they are the number 1 team in Leicester with the best facilities I’ve seen they have professional coaches in all areas of martial arts so if your looking to get down try something new then this is the place to start!! Join the team join the family you won’t regret it !
I joined 1st legion at the end of 2019, but didn't start to go to classes consistently until after new year, this is easily the best gym in Leicester! I had such anxiety about going, I'm overweight, unfit and had never even thought about going to a fighters gym. I would honestly recommend 1st legion to anyone, it's amazing! They made me feel so comfortable from the get go, everyone was so friendly, there was no judgement, I honestly couldn't of asked for anything more in a gym! I love going to 1st legion, there is so much support, the coaches are amazing and it has really really helped with the anxiety that I had around sport. The morning classes especially are great, they are smaller and more personal and everyone made me feel so comfortable! I would recommend anyone in Leicester or surrounding areas who are thinking about trying boxing, muay thai, etc joins 1st legion!
My daughter does kids bjj here, I was really nervous to take her the first day but from the minute we walked in we felt so welcome. She has come on leaps and bounds and will never miss a class! The coaches are so loving, dedicated, and have so much passion for what they do. My daughter wants to start Muay Thai as soon as she turns 6 as she loves being there. A huge hank you to all the coaches for all their hard work!
My new favourite place to spend Friday nights at hopefully not just Fridays soon . As soon as you walk in, you’re met with happy, helpful people. No matter what background, size, level you’re at, you’re met with open arms. The gym is clean, the air is not stuffy, all equipment you need is available. Can deffo recommend if running on the treadmill isn’t quite for you or you want a group work out sessions with some good people.
