Food was good value for money, staff friendly and attentive. No fish dishes as supply issues. Drinks prices OK. The pasta dish needed a bit more sauce as a bit dry. The platter was good. One thing I did not like was at payment time how we felt pressured into giving a tip as I am happy to tip but do not like when it's all most rammed at you with by a member of staff and the card payment machine. The restaurant is looking like it needs re decorating as looks a bit shabby in places.
Very impressed with this particular Zizzi. I’ve had Zizzi’s a couple of times in the past and always felt really underwhelmed by the food and disgusted by the price for what you got. But last night I was really happy with the portion sizes you got tons of garlic bread! and the food was incredibly tasty. Very nice, relaxed atmosphere. I think I’d definitely come again! The whole family were very happy and we all left with full bellies! Also if you are a student, you get 20% off the bill. I don’t know if this is a permanent thing but definitely worth a mention for students trying to save a bit of money. So check your UNIDAYS app and bring in your student card.
Zizzis is always a MUST if your looking for great Italian. I’ve been to Zizzis many times and every time had a great experience. You can always rely on a friendly chilled atmosphere, with great food and great service. No necessary feeling of dressing up too much either. Staff are always so prompt and welcoming with great customer service. We happened to be the loudest table but the staff embraced our joyous table. Another great experience and once again enjoyable food. A fantastic menu. Easy, ample parking £2.50 from 5pm onwards till the morning. Zizzis has it all. Prices have slightly increased since my last visit but what hasn’t increased nowadays? Perfect for a family occasion, couples date or just to get together with friends. Definitely somewhere I’d continue to visit. Thank you for the Zizzi experience.
First time visiting today, the food was gorgeous and the staff were just as lovely. Will definitely visit again and I'd highly recommend.
My partner and I enjoy Zizzi dished a lot, and wherever we go in the UK, we definitely go to their Zizzi branch first. But most of the time we visit The Derby branch as we live there and I think it is the only place we have ever had a problem with. Firstly , because there is only one branch in this city, it is very difficult to book a table even in the weekdays! And if we don't have a booking in advance, even if they have some empty tables, they won't let us in. In many other branches, at least 3 to 5 tables are assigned to those who come without a booking to accommodate the needs of their customers. Secondly, in this branch, the handling of orders that are done through the QR code is very poor! Sometimes there is more than 40 minutes waiting time between the starter and the main meal and we have to ask the waiters again. On our last visit, ont only they totally forgot about one of our main dishes, but also the dessert that was on the menu and I had placed my order at the same time as the rest of the customers, was ignored and the last dessert was given to another customer. The waitress asked us to change our dessert with only an apology!!! In my opinion, this service is very poor and it is not good for the reputation of Zizzi. Please either eliminate taking online orders through the QR code or take care of the orders on time!
Great too see the sharing platter back on the menu and cheese dripping pot mmmmmm. Great service lovely coffee only down side was the restaurant was very cold had too keep our coats on and looking around must of the customers had too.Food: 5/5
Had dinner on Friday 6 Jan 2023. Staff were great and very friendly. Food was below average. Calamari starter tasted mass produce, the batter used was awful. My main course spicy pork meatball pasta was also disappointing, dry and mushy. My wife's lasagna was very nice. They didn't have the beer I ordered so had to settle for another. They lost our main course order slip so we were forgotten about for at least 30 min. Won't be going back to a Zizzi's anywhere, ever.
I really liked it, first time in this particular one. Good food, I had olives, bruschetta and then prawn linguine. Others were happy too. Great atmosphere, good service even though busy.Food: 4/5
Enjoyed the garlic bread starter and pudding although mains weren’t great. Service was good just food wasn’t up to scratch. Ate from the valentines menu had a good selection and seemed like decent value.
The staff were all following covid-secure procedures. All very welcoming and accommodating to all of our individual requests. The service was great and we were seated very quickly and given the right amount of time to decide our food and drinks. The food was amazing and I can't recommend this place enough. I would visit as much as I can. Perfect for date nights or q family bonding meal. Great atmosphere and the decor matches the vibe of the place.
