As someone who loves matcha, especially iced one, this has been a place to tick on my list. I am giving it 3 star, because it didn’t taste special. It was quite nice, but more like the one I could perhaps make at home. The staff was very friendly though!
Upstairs in Camden Market this is a haven for tea lovers. Tea of all types in proper tea pots and a good selection of cakes. An interesting vibe, Camden/hipster staff and clients with a restful atmosphere. Doesn't have it's own toilets but is near the public ones also upstairs above the Market.
The Yumchaa in Camden Town is very well located and provides customers outdoor seating and views of the canal. The interiors are minimalistic, but nice. Yumchaa offers a wide variety of teas and a much smaller selection of coffees and bites. I tried one of their winter specials - Chilli Chilli Hot Chocolate - and totally like it. I would definitely like to give their other drinks a try. Yumchaa gets a two star for the poor customer service which completely spoiled my experience. I do understand that given its location, the place is crowded, but the Baristas can't stop being nice to customers.
Waitress extremely rude, was looking at her phone while taking our order, there was no coffee left and the hot chocolate machine was broken. We were also advised to take away as the shop was closing at 6 PM and we "only" had 40 minutes to have tea. We ordered 2 cups of tea and 2 pieces of cake, the waitress forgot to give us 1 piece, pretended she gave it to us before, then said she only charged us for one anyway when the receipt clearly showed her mistake. All in all customers are not welcome here. Go to Yumchaa on Parkway.
Nice set out, nice service but their Chai Latte is literally hot milk with cinnamon sprinkled on it. You end up buying another drink because it really is disgusting. They should not serve hot milk as Chai Latte and indirectly forcing people buy another drink and get away with it. They know it as people complain but carry on regardless.
Bad staff great place to relax and good cofee and cakes
A typical example of something that's a victim of its own success, with staff who don't to give a damn, probably because they don't own it. After ordering tea, having the money taken they neglected to inform me that they had run out of tea pots... which kind of defies the point of going to a specialist tea shop. The staff without seeming to care at all, handed me some kind of jog thing, giving me some kind of garbled instructions on how to use it and then walking away On using the device I found it flooded the table, when I went back to say something they shouted that that's what they told me, On asking why didn't they have any teapots, they said it was becase they were busy and laughed Before this afternoon I would have thoroughly recommended this venue for a break, but I would totally recommend avoiding now, as the staff have changed and don't seem to give a damn and are quite lackluster in their service, there is too much competition to tolerate this
Ice matcha -don't bother, all it is matcha powder mixed with tap water on ice@ £3.05 . DONT BOTHER , DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!
Average coffee place right on the camden market. Nice location, nice coffee machine, average service.
