The hostel is an easy walk from the station. It has an interesting area to explore around it with the canal and some beautiful bridges. The rooms were lovely with a shower room and toilet. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is great with a wonderful games area and downstairs ablutions. There is also a lift to go upstairs. The food and drinks available are great value for money as is the optional breakfast
Hands down the best hostel I have stayed at to date! Everyone was very friendly, lots of facilities and areas to chill and hang out. Rooms were very clean and had everything I needed - light, shelf and charging ports by every bed, and a bathroom in the room shared with 3 others so wasn't too busy. Only a 15 minute walk to the centre of town but there's plenty of restaurants and bars right around the corner. Free parking also a huge huge bonus! 100% would stay here again if I'm back in the area. Thank you for such a lovely stay!
I enjoyed my stay here. I stayed in a 4 bedroom female room, which was next to the railway/canal view, which was nice. I liked the facilities and also the breakfast options too. The staff were friendly and I also got to store my luggage, as I arrived early for check in. The hostel is very close to the Science museum and walking distance to the bus stop that takes you to Manchester Piccadilly station and not too far from the trams too. It's such a nice and quiet area, and I will definitely stay here again.
Booked a 6 person private room for 5 guests, however when we arrived we had been put in a 4 bed room with a double bed. Thankfully we had a screenshot of the original booking and we were eventually provided with an extra room. The way the hostel handled it was frustrating. We first had to resolve it with the night manger, who put an extra mattress in our room. Not ideal, but fine. Then we had to have the exact same discussion the next day with the day manager, who gave us an extra room instead. Seemingly little communication between them. In both conversations the assumption was that we had booked the wrong room. Even after showing the screenshot we had to argue about the room being incorrect. The stay itself was fine but I felt the hostel staff could have resolved the issue with a lot less hassle. At the end of the day, you should get the room you booked
Nice, clean hostel with a good atmosphere and good facilities. We were attending a gig at Aviva Studios so the location turned out to be ideal. Rooms are fine without being anything special and could have done with a light other than the bright ceiling lights. You can get a free bus into central Manchester from the Science and Industry Museum just round the corner. Definitely recommended if you are looking for good quality, affordable accommodation in Manchester.
It’s marketed as a “party hostel” but it really isn’t. They don’t organise nights out like OneFam does. It’s essentially just a normal hostel that’s trying to be a bit cooler. Reception staff were very unbothered about everything and seemed to just put in the least possible amount of effort. When I checked in, they didn’t even show me around. There are no towels in the rooms — they make you rent them for a few quid. They also don’t let you bring in and drink your own alcohol lmao This is just a very average hostel, that isn’t that cheap, but is at least in a good central location.
Great option for a cheap stay in Central Manchester! If I'm going to a gig or show and expecting to finish late, it's good to have the option of staying in a dorm rather than paying for a single room which I'll only end up spending a few hours in. The shared rooms are single-gendered and have bunkbeds, lockers and an en-suite bathroom. I've been lucky to be in with people who are either very friendly or very quiet, so sharing hasn't been an issue although I always sleep in earplugs anyway which might help. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the rooms are fine for the price. I do wish the prices weren't so dynamic, as on busy dates a dorm bed here can be as expensive as a single room at Sacha's, but I can understand the business reasons for doing this. A bonus is that the hostel's location near Castlefield Bowl gives you great views and a chance to eavesdrop when there are gigs on!
A truly great hostel. Clearly popular for a reason. Great location along the canals, bright and open spaces, rooms are comfortable, especially with a bathroom. There’s a small bar, a water station so important at a hostel!, a self-service kitchen, and a large dining area where they serve a big breakfast and host events. Plus lovely staff who are very friendly and helpful. There really isn’t much more you can ask from a hostel!
Cool location on the canal, and nice open plan design building. Rooms are spacious and clean, with good views, and would have been perfect if not for a foul smell that was in the bathroom. Food is typical YHA fare, and everything was provided as and when it was planned. Most staff are friendly and helpful. Reasonably located in relation to stations and sights.
Nice clean basic room. Lovely view. Good location. Friendly staff. Didn’t use the facilities in the reception area as it was a short visit but they looked welcoming/ inviting. I thought £10 for breakfast was expensive. Shame towels are not included.Rooms: 5/5
