This camp site and youth hostel doesn’t exist, even if the signs are still up on the road. We went there and it is a private property under construction. Should be taken off of maps as a place to stay.
A beautiful hostel in a rural location. Small but well equipped. We stayed in one of the new camping pods with the family. Despite being October and a bit blustery, the pod was warm too warm at times as they have underfloor heating! The toilets and showers were really clean and have been recently refurbished too. The hostel was full when we visited but the staff managed this incredibly well. The walks in the area are stunning and the views from the pod were stunning. We will definitely re-visit.
The room and facilities were clean and we got what was expected. Fresh clean sheets, a warm room with bunks and each bed had a plug socket, 2 USBs and a night light. The room had a clean sink and 2 windows which was good for ventilation after a day of walking in the rain! The hostel staff were friendly and provided some much needed coffee for us at the end of the day. We didn’t have breakfast but the breakfast option was there and from what I could see in the morning , the breakfast was varied and looked appetising!
Great location to camp a couple of nights and explore Cape Cornwall area. Properly quiet, surrounded by flowers and fields, great views and a whole raft of places to visit nearby as well as the classic coast path if you want a good tramp.
The facilities and room were as discribed, working order, and clean. The view is amazing. The food is good, highly recommended getting the breakfast.nThe only down side that even though I had the private room there was a shared corridor and toilet/shower facilities with the family room. The room was apparently occupied by gaggle of kids who all needed showering at 23:00, running to and throw from their room, and flushed the toilet all through the night. The toilet flush made a thundering sound in my room. This is not something the staff could help. I would not recommend the private room; you probably would have a better night's sleep in the dorms.
