This place is so awsome for 2 main reasons. 1 they allow dogs. And 2 Graham the manager..absolut legand! We've been there twice this week and on the first evening we had a minor disagreement with another table and he came to check on us to make sure we were ok.nHe handled our adjustments to the dishes and requirements so professionally. And the second ensured we were able to get a table even though they were so busy! They are all so friendly there and its a great place. Thank you!nWe will see you again soon :
Really nice old pub located in the main road through Leigh-on-Sea. Lots of history. Came for a quick drink. Very large place inside with different sections, front bar looks very modern but the rest of the pub has a mostly original feel to the place. Small outside seating area to the side of the building and another at the rear with nice views.Very dog friendly. Food menu available but we didn't stay to eat. Service was friendly and welcoming. Good choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Certainly worth a visit.
Ye Olde Smack in Leigh-on-Sea is a great spot with a lovely terrace offering a view of the sea. The service was fast, and the place is much cleaner than most pubs in London. It has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and is dog friendly, which is a big plus. Definitely a nice place to stop by if you're in the area!
I was really disappointed with my experience. I ordered the roast dinner and unfortunately it was one of the worst I’ve had.nnThe food quality was very poor. The meat was dry and overcooked, the roast potatoes were hard and tasted reheated rather than freshly made, and the vegetables were bland and overdone. The Yorkshire pudding was flat and soggy, and the gravy was watery with very little flavour. Overall, it felt like very little care had gone into the preparation.nnThe service also added to the disappointment. Staff seemed uninterested and inattentive, and it was difficult to get anyone’s attention when we needed something. There was no check-in to see if the meal was okay, which was surprising given the quality.nnFor the price paid, I expected a much higher standard. Sadly, I wouldn’t return or recommend based on this experience.
This pub is everything a great local should be and more. From the moment you walk in, you’re made to feel welcome by Graham, Francis, and the rest of the team, who somehow manage to be friendly, efficient, and genuinely caring all at once. Nothing is too much trouble, and the atmosphere they create is second to none.nThe pub quiz is a real highlight – brilliantly run, great fun, and just the right mix of challenging and entertaining. It’s the kind of quiz that keeps you coming back week after week, whether you’re there to win or just to enjoy the laughs.nFood and drink are equally impressive. The menu offers something for everyone, all cooked to a high standard, and the drink selection is excellent, with well-kept pints, quality wines, and plenty of choice. A fantastic pub with a fantastic team – highly recommended.
