I've visited Ugos a couple times over the years and have not been disappointed with their fried chicken. The beer list is so-so but enjoyable. My wife has had different menu items and has expressed enjoyment, so you can't really go wrong. They also sell milkshakes, which I recall being slightly smaller than you ideally want but as tasty as one would hope

Went for some fried chicken on a very quiet Tuesday evening. Friendly service at the bar but first thing we noticed was the prices of the food. Got a medium basket of fried chicken and 2 soft drinks, the bill was £19.50. Skipped an extra side of fried as they were £4+. 

Food came out, portion size small (barely enough for 1 person), chicken was over cooked and seriously under seasoned. This place is very over hyped, over priced and under delivers massively. 

You can get much better fried chicken (not KFC) in London for less than UGOs in Leigh!

Advice to anyone thinking of going here is don't bother, go to your local KFC instead.. Only reason I gave it 2 stars was because of the good bar staff. 

End of rant.

We came for lunch, several options were unavailable including chilli and not enough chicken. We waited 40 minutes for food despite it being very quiet. When the food came it was lukewarm, despite telling the staff this they did not seem bothered, saying the food was freshly cooked, which it may have been but it was certainly sat around in the kitchen. We have been many times before but will not return. We were offered a free drink but this does not replace £90+ of tepid food.
*edit* we had the food costs refunded, however that didn’t make up for the spoilt occasion (our daughter’s birthday) and hungry kids. The place was virtually empty - such a shame!

Fantastic local business with a great vibe, not a cheap night out but the quality matches the prices. I've been going here for nearly 20 years and I will continue to do so
