Ye Olde Globe Inn
"Ye Olde Globe Inn is a character packed village centre free house built as three cottages circa 1248 by stone masons constructing the village church spire. It is believed to have been converted to a public house in circa 1775. The pub stands at the centre of the village which lies just off the A399 which connects the nearby coastal village of Combe Martin to the town of Ilfracombe."

We called in to this picturesque village pub for a family holiday meal. It's much roomier than it appears from the outside, with plenty of seating areas. There's a friendly atmosphere. Food was good kids menu available too with table service. I think there's also skittles and pool but there was a tournament on so we didn't properly investigate. Recommended.
So pleased to see the Inn is open again ! This has always been a little gem of a find for us and we were so sad to see it close temporarily. The inside is cosy with log fires and nooks n' crannies to sit amongst. Very traditional old pub in a lovely village setting. Can't wait to come back. Congratulations to the new owners.
Used to visit this pub regularly, however haven't been here for 3 years. The transformation is great much brighter and welcoming and the food was fantastic.
First visit for myself and my husband to what is technically our 'local'. Really loved the traditional feel and history of the place. It's bigger than it looks ! We had no problem phoning and booking a table. Very warmly welcomed and lots to choose from on the menu and a specials board . We went straight for mains. Moroccan chicken kebab and crispy chilli beef . Both fresh and full of flavour. Managed to fit in one biscoff cheesecake. Really tasted like the real job. We can't wait to come back and hopefully perhaps bring friends along for some of the events they have there. Lots of free parking just up the hill . Well lit.
Great to see the Globe open again, genuine historic building in a fabulous village. Good beer, good food, good people. Welcoming fire as soon as you enter, just the job on a rainy December night. A couple of points to mention that would really enhance the experience - the lighting is blazingly bright throughout, it would be so much cozier with softer more subtle lighting. Also a real fire in the other fireplaces would be great if possible. Early days for the new owners, doing a great job so far...
A group of 30 of our Riding Club used the skittles alley for a speaker/presentation tonight. Many of us ate there and I was really impressed with the quality of food. I had the delicious chicken kebab on the specials board. Drinks were great, service was really good, staff were so friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back for more food!!
We loved this pub. Great people, great food and made to feel like part of the village. Wish we lived closed by so very blessed to have come across it. Will be back for sure with Hamish the hound
This is a lovely village pub recently reopened with new landlords, Jenny & Simon. Give it a try, you won't regret it. You'll get a great welcome from Jenny & Simon who are very enthusiastic about their new venture and are going to great lengths to provide what people want. Fortunately we live locally and will use it often!
I can’t rate this place enough!!! Absolutely amazing! The food was incredible, the pub is just beautiful and all the staff were brilliant!! A new firm favourite for sure! Huge compliments to the chef and a massive thank you too all the staff for such a lovely evening.
If you want an old traditional pub with warm fires and an equally warm welcome this is the pub for you. Serves great beer, wine and even cocktails these days. Dog friendly!
