Had my first salon haircut here in years and my first ever balayage. I brought some reference pictures but was nervous that it could go wrong as it felt like a big change and my hair wasn't quite long enough for the style I had in mind. Les did an incredible job and I left absolutely over the moon. It also was much faster than expected but the standard was not affected. Great value and so much cheaper than what I would have paid in London. Would highly recommend this place and Les!
Usually Angela to do my cut and colour, due to unforseen circumstance Jon kindly stepped in to do my holiday hair at the last minute, Jon was lovely, made me comfortable and very professional. My hair is difficult to lighten and which is why I have trusted Angela for years, however Jon understood this and was skillful and took time to make sure I was happy with the result. Would never use another salon, very happy.
Visited today for the first time and I will definitely be back as I’m very pleased with the result. Les did a great job with my hair while being very kind, professional and helpful. I highly recommend this salon.
I'm always very apprehensive trying out new salons, but I am so glad I went to Y Salon and will definitely go back, Angela was amazing. She talked to me a lot about my hair, showed me loads of pictures, and really spent a lot of time and effort to give me exactly what I wanted. Was all round a great experience, planning on going back for balayaga can't wait.
The team at Y Salon are lovely, their services and products are amazing! They take time and are incredibly mindful of which products they use, stocking Kevin Murphy which smells amazing, bottles are recycled from sea waste I think? And all cruelty free. Having a treatment here, you feel at ease and like you’re truly being pampered with no intimidating salon vibes!
Went in for a cut and blow dry, and it was supposed to be a pick me up as I wasn’t feeling great. Left the place feeling worse tbh, the stylist was tugging at my hair so hard it hurt from wash to blow dry, they didn’t ask me what style I wanted or where I wanted my hair parted, blow dry was random strands curled?? Would never go back. A hair appointment is supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing not a painful experience.
I'm never coming back to your salon, you first said £55 for cut and blowdry, the cut took five minutes, blowdry took one hour, you charged me £80, it only took one hour when it said it took one hour and a half, my hair isn't even remotely like how i wanted. the hair cut wasn't cut tidy or carefully at all. your service is bad, you only charged me extra for your holiday not for your work, im not happy at all, ill never return. Horrible
Quite possibly the most unfriendly, unprofessional service ever. I’d been to Les a few times over the last year for a cut, which he did a good job of. Then I decided I wanted a big change, I asked him for a peach colour all over and a streak of an orange red, I had put a lot of thought into it as my hair was naturally blonde. When I got there even though I’d explained on the phone what I wanted, he said he didn’t have time and to come back the next day he clearly just couldn’t be bothered as it wasn’t closing for another 3 hours. Then when he got round to it there was almost no conversation of exactly what I wanted, I showed lots of pictures and he just said he knew what I wanted & to trust him so I did. I ended up with bright emo pink hair with a permanent section on one side that was almost purple. The dye job itself was horrendous, at the back he’d missed whole sections, I could have done it better myself, the dye he used was bleach London which is about £5 in boots. I even said it wasn’t at all what I had asked for and he said oh well it will wash to the right colour lol. I’m quite open minded so I thought okay sure I can probably enjoy it. Then when it came to paying he charged me £230! Which if you ask any hairdresser that is completely insane, he knew I was a student, clearly decided to just take advantage. I contacted to ask for a breakdown and no response. Not to mention Les as a person is the most negative conversation, you feel like jumping off a bridge after he spends the entire experience talking about how the world is ending etc & lots of weird conspiracies that I didn’t ask to hear. He’s rude and inappropriate. Will never be going again
I had a cut and finish appointment with Jon. He was pleasant enough however, I can’t recommend him for the service. The appointment barely took 45 mins and I have long hair. The time isn’t the issue, it’s the quality of what he did. 1. My hair was only shampooed once, it didn’t feel like it lathered at all and I’m not even sure he put conditioner on. 2. There was no massage at all with the hair wash and I was only in the seat for 2-3 mins. 3. I asked for just the edges to be cut off from the length which he did but the way he cut in to my hair it’s all uneven at the bottom. 4. The fringe layer he cut in, is larger on one side than the other, it is such an abrupt cut that there is no way to style it without the cut being so obviously bad. 5. No hair oil was used before the drying process so my hair this morning is a combination of greasy, unclean and brittle at the ends. 6. Also small things like asking if I wanted a tea or if I was ok with the end service would have been common curtesy. Maybe the good reviews from are regular customer and because of that I felt ok going in but I was wrong so I would not recommend as the quality of the service mentioned by other reviewers isn’t the same if you don’t already have a relationship with the salon. A very disappointing experience for £45 but more sad that no care was taken over me as a customer.
