Large pool is very cold until you get used to it but the kids pool is nice and warm. We went on the family fun swim and there was enough to keep the kids entertained with different floats and balls and even a polo net, price seems a little steep for what it Is especially when the council ones are much cheaper when you have a free locals card
I hadn't been swimming for ages, so I phoned YMCA Fleetwood to see what the script was. Harry was very helpful on the phone and informed me that as I am not currently a member it is usually best to phone before going, just in case it is mad busy or there are events on. He said that the main pool was pretty quiet today, so I was OK to just turn up and that it was £5.80 including the swim and the showers. When I arrived, the atmosphere was friendly and felt like a happy place. There were some children's swimming lessons going on, but they were mainly in the children's pool, so all good. It actually made me feel happy, hearing the excitable noise the children were making as it reminded me of going swimming when I was a child decades ago with school. All the staff seemed happy in their work not stressed and the pool temperature was absolutely spot on not too hot or cold. The chlorine level was bang on too not stinging my eyes afterwards. The showers were really warm and the changing rooms spacious. The hair dryers were free to use too. All in all, I had an excellent swim today. Thank you YMCA Fleetwood. Keep up the good work!
Disappointed with the receptionist as she for some reason told me that I should book online infuture to avoid disappointment. Funny that, as the pool was almost empty of swimmers! Even worse, when existing we were obstructed by staff in the exit of the pool who where putting notices up explaining that the showers were out of order!
Staff are super friendly and extremely helpful. Reception area is very dark with no lights on. And changing rooms need some drastic TLC.
Parking is free... amazing. Pool is great and never too busy. Lovely swim!
YMCA Fleetwood fitness center is a great place for a family fitness outing especially the pool area. The gyms are fully equipped, the basketball/football Court is large as well so you can play whatever you want. They offer a free one day pass also so you can decide if you want the sign up or not.
Good equipped gym, everyone will find something for themselves. Weights, cardio treadmills, rower, bikes and classes. Place for fitness exercises. Helpful and friendly staff. Low prices, no 12 month rolling contract. Monthly and weekly passes available.
Great swimming and good gym you need to book if not a member though
