I would have give a 5 stars but cleaning in changing room could have been better, it was really messy, temperature was really low, it was quite cold this morning inside, and do you guys really charge 20p for hairdryer? That is ridiculous

it's now JD sports Gym, the place is really nice , staff are very helpful . Unfortunately not  everything is good, for instance most of the cable machines don't have all the attachments , this is very poor for a gym that's only been open a couple of weeks. The other problem is a lot of people that use the gym are not sanitizing the equipment before and after use and the staff don't seem to be around to spot it and remind people. Its a real shame after all we've been through , some people are lazy and lack the proper hygiene. After all that zip do like the gym and like the space. they do need to address the above issues

It's amazing value very affordable, the staff are amazing they go above and beyond very friendly and welcoming. The classes are wonderful amazing workout. The services provide are excellent and 5 star rated can't complain. Literally have everything also the ladies only section is a bonus to motivate everyone. Highly recommended gym.

UPDATE: Since writing this my free month finished a friend used his points in exchange for a pass for me and I went into the gym to join, given that the building is plastered in £9.99 per month stickers I thought it was great value for  money. However THIS IS NOT THE CASE! If you work 9-5pm you will not only be looking at £21.99 per month but a £20 joining fee too. Maybe a better name would be EXERCISE 4 THE SAME AS EVERYWHERE ELSE. Plus when the friend who referred me in made a similar comment on the member's hub,it was deleted by the management. I have now joined "The Gym" in Newport centre which is 24hrs and only £12.99 per month as it advertises! and there are other members considering doing the same.  I am leaving the below review because it was my first impression and you too may fall into the same trap.  Amazing value for money, clean, new equipment and loads of it so hardly ever wait for a machine. It also has a cage and boxing ring if that's your thing. Classes are good too. If I were to be really picky it'd be nice to have a coin slot locker but that shouldn't be a deal breaker.

Great gym for the price! At £9.99 a month, no contract , no fee, you cannot complain at all. Better value for money than any gym in close proximity, that's for certain.

I felt anxious about using a gym as I'm not fit or lean, but staff are really friendly and welcoming and always say hello and goodbye. If I'm not sure how to use something everyone is approachable to ask for help. There is a good range of equipment and space so I never have to wait to use the equipment. I find the rewards system good motivation and like that I receive emails with updates. I do try and avoid the gym at peak times, but the opening hours suit me so I can go very early or late in the day. The only thing I'm not convinced by is how well the app works with regard to ease of booking training sessions and classes.

I joined before Christmas really pleased with what's on offer. I think £9.99 a month is a great price and you got a wide choice of classes. It's that comfortable over there that I've even gone on my own. Equipment is wonderful and enough for everyone.

Been going to this gym for a while now and won't be changing! Having tried most of the other gyms in Newport, they don't really compare. Value for money is excellent. Staff are nice and wide range of equipment.

billed me for 3 months after canceling and sent debt collectors after me for it. Luckily I still had proof they accepted the cancellation even still it took weeks to resolve. Thy get 2 stars as the gym itself is decent with a good array of equipment.

The pros would be easier to list first which are the price, Joanne, one of the instructors, is immense and the locker rooms are clean.  The cons... The showers... You can smell the sewers through them, not their fault but something they could look in to. The sales and communications team are pushy and rude. The equipment needs quite a bit of maintenance. There needs to be a few more classes for a wider range of people eg. Pregnant people or people who want to be fit but don't have the stamina just yet.
