I went to the wool shed for a mentalist show. The ambience of this sports bar is quite good. Several indian artists perform their act at the wool shed. It is located very close to Dominick luas stop. Their starter platters are quite filling!
It's a nice big place and the karaoke was a good bit of fun. Nachos were really disappoting at €14 and waiter service was slow at times.. Drinks not bad. It's worth a visit to watch sports or do the Karaoke night.
The staff is amazing and the location is cool, but the food is less cool because it was untasted, nothing special. I was here to watch a football game with more than 10 people, and everything went well. We had made reservations in advance. We will return for a drink without a doubt, but I'm not sure if we will also eat.
Very nice sports bar for all countries. You can see all football matches around the world. The Bar ist big an have place for a lot of people. Fantastic
EDIT: I still think this is a great place to watch a game, and I’m not changing the 5 star review, but I did have a recent disappointing experience here that I wanted to share: First, I ordered some wings and asked if they have Buffalo sauce. They do not. That’s fine, and if they had just said so then I would have been happy to pick something else, but for some reason they told me they DO have Buffalo sauce and then just gave me wings with Louisiana sauce instead. When I brought them back, they tried to tell me that Buffalo sauce and Louisiana sauce are the same thing. In case any other Americans are reading this with horror and thinking that people in Ireland just don’t know the difference between Buffalo sauce and Louisiana sauce, I have gotten wings at dozens of other places in Ireland and they all have known that Buffalo and Louisiana sauce are very different things, so I think this is just a unique issue to Woolshed, or even just unique to that particular staff member. Second, later when I was eating, a guy randomly asked me to get up out of the booth so he could stand on the bench where I was sitting to hang up something on the window. I’m still not sure if he was an employee or a customer, but the whole thing happened right in front of the manager, and I was a little surprised and disappointed that the manager would a allow someone to stand directly on one of the booths in front of customers, and b kick a customer out of their seat while they were in the middle of eating so they could stand on their seat and hang something. I’ll still probably go back to watch baseball and I am still keeping the review at 5 stars, but I did think it was important to give that feedback. - One of the only places in Dublin that will put on a baseball game for you.
Food was nice and lady that served was nice. Tables were filthy when I walked in and asked for one to be cleaned.....and then was asked was I happy with that, like I had made the mess. Then when I asked if there was a toilet to use on the ground floor and I was asked, why I needed it? I just explained I needed an accessible toilet, it should just have a sign I shouldn't need to ask and then have to explain why. Anyway we wer also told its a 'sports bar' so no kids menu, in a rude manner like I shouldn't have had the kids in the venue. We are from Dublin and I've drank there for many yrs and this was the first time I've felt uncomfortable in the venue
Great big projector screen, but despite asking, staff didn't turn up the volume to be much more than a whisper. Unfortunately some of the worst pub food I've had, even the ketchup tasted strange. And unfortunately, the whole place had a strange smell.Food: 2/5
My go-to place on each time when there is a match or Brazilian party. Some beer pints are fairly priced there, but beers in Dublin are getting expensive everywhere. The place has a very sporty atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. Each day there is a different event. Such as bingo, Karaoke etc.Food: 5/5
I'm a regular customer. This is definitely not a nice place anymore. The portion of the food start to be too small, and they force to put trash food against quality. To pay beer 7.50E in empty bar is very priced. I will skip this place in futureFood: 1/5
Located just off of Dublins Capel Street area the Woolshed is easily accessible on foot or by various public transport. As a sports bar it does have a certain appearance, stained looking as it may be it's actually quite clean. There are no actual menus rather QR codes that one must scan to view the website, which unfortunately makes the place significantly less accessible to the technically challenged, elderly or just plain old fashioned. The staff are friendly and helpful as long as you're not asking for menu help... The food itself is good and hearty with generous portions, although burgers and wings should be the height of your expectations. You are also asked to pay for your order before you get it, which is understandable on sports days when volume is high as are chancers. However if you're looking for a relaxed eating experience this practice hardly encourages you to buy extra courses, desserts or drinks . Over all it's grand. The space is grand. The food is grand, it is arguably the better burger choice compared to the 2 neighbours. On match days it's absolutely lit... if you like that sort of thing.
