I absolutely adore Wonderland Ceramics! Very cool vibes and the owner is very hands off but extremely helpful if you do ask questions. I mainly did pottery painting but I have seen some really good ceramic works others have done as well. I have brought two different friends along on different occasions and they had a great time too. For me this place is the best of Hackney - artistic, independent and open to all. Cannot recommend it enough. If you're local or visiting you should definitely give it a go. There's also a visiting cat who is adorable and very friendly and i found them to be accommodating for me bringing my own moggie as well I called beforehand though.
Had a lovely experience at this wonderland with a friend and got to paint some large pieces which turned out great! Cute cats too. They were £40 each and we did have to rush to finish it in the 2 hour limit. Also would've liked some finer brushes for greater detail. Collection was a bit over 2 weeks.
Would not recommend this place to anyone the place is tiny on top of that the lady has awful customer service was waiting outside in the cold for 15 minutes before anyone let us in. The bell outside does not work really awful EDIT SINCE THE OWNER IS A LIAR: WE DID NOT ARRIVE LATE we were outside waiting for 15 minutes you yourself said the doorbell does not work there’s no staff upstairs, the problem was not how small and dirty the place was it was your poor attitude, you clearly had a problem with us as soon as we stepped in you were not welcoming at all and you knew that yourself. If you do not like your job do not take it out on customers who are paying YOU. Hopefully you learn some customer service we should’ve listened to the bad reviews of this place and I suggest anyone else reading this to stay away
Enjoyed the pottery painting, but it is a very small space. We were grateful to be the only people in there. Upon collecting, I discovered an error has occurred when glazing my vase £35 and it came out bumpy. The other pieces we painted were fine. I sent an email about this weeks ago. Please respond.
Came here for a beginner wheel throwing session and for pottery painting session after. Both times were so fun! I especially appreciate how helpful and encouraging they were during the throwing session. It made the whole process from making your own pottery/ceramics to painting and having them glaze it all the more fun and rewarding!
Wonderland ceramics is my children's childhood memories for birthday parties and rainy day activities. Lovely garden and very friendly cats. The owner is lovely. And so are the girls doing the throwing class. Highly recommended place!
I’ve enjoyed wonderland ceramics in the past, but my recent visit was disappointing. I booked a session for a handprint and pottery painting. However, the staff member on duty was unhelpful, disorientated and unprepared, stating she didn’t know how to do handprints and seemed confused about the pottery I had booked to paint. Her lack of knowledge and unprofessional demeanour made the experience frustrating. Although I was happy with the final pottery pieces, I was disappointed that I couldn’t do the handprint and wasn’t offered an alternative date.
I visited Wonderland Ceramics for a birthday date, the vibes were cosy and Alice was super friendly and accommodating, there are adorable cats lounging around that made the visit 10x better. There are plenty of ceramics to choose from and all prices were clearly listed / paint was fully stocked. I will definitely be going back !
We booked a slot for pottery painting online and paid a deposit of £5 pp. When we arrived, no one was in the shop, so we called out a few times until a lady showed up. She asked us to pick what we wanted to paint. There we some options to pick from upstairs, but they also had more stuff downstairs. All items ranged in price me and my cousin chose a plate; I believe it was £21 each, and my sister chose a bowl, which I think came to £24. We paid for our items and then were instructed on how to use the paints. We were then left alone to paint our items using any of the paints and equipment upstairs. It was nice having some space to work alone, as I find it stressful when shopkeepers hover and keep an eye on you. The Kpop playlist in the background was a bonus! Overall it was a very therapeutic experience. I really enjoyed it and would definitely try it again soon. At the end of the session, we cleared up our area by putting the paints and brushes away. The lady explained to us that we could pick up our items in 2 weeks. We picked them up yesterday, and they turned out lovely.
15/08/2022 Today we came to Wonderland Ceramics for a painting experience. Walked in and there was no one around till we made a little noise, 3 tables with different colour paints and pots of paint brushes. £5 to use the studio plus what ever you choose to paint which they all vary in price. One Ceramic was £26 and the other was £20 all in all came to £56 my girls actually spent a few hours painting. So it does take time to get the perfect design. We felt that we was left to it, she said we can use any paints that are in the room, gave us a paint pallet and glass of water and left, We were the only ones in the shop so we literally had free rein to use what ever paints we wanted. Once they finished we went to find the lady to say what happens next. She explained she will contact us in 2 weeks to collect, once they have been in the fire oven. Reply: Thank you for your reply, I'm so happy your in remission, I'm sorry to hear your a cancer suffer and me and my girls wish you well and I'm so glad your living the dream. Me and the girls had loads of fun and we gathered your very busy. 29° wow!!! we that don't really know much about pottery, I sure know what you have to deal with now, but having pottery as your passion is amazing. Thank you for the experience, without you my girls wouldn't know. Look forward to visiting for the final piece. I have some friends that have inquired since I put my pics up so I think you may have some more customers. See you soon, please take care and lovely to meet you.
